Nightmares

Penumbra sat up, gasping for breath. The air in her lungs was cold, and she shivered.

It was the third night in a row that she had been having these nightmares- or were they visions? Whatever they were, Penumbra had been plagued with bad sleep all night, and she sat up again, as she always did after her... episodes, and stared hauntingly at nothing, trying in vain to calm her beating heart.

'They're the same, but...different', she thought to herself, trying to remember the events of her dream.

It was always difficult to recall exactly what happened- everything was dark and hazy, and the moment she'd wake up, all memories seemed to creep away from her, lost in the night. She knew one thing for certain, however: her dreams were growing stronger, and with them a growing sense of danger seemed to grip Equestria, but she couldn't figure out why.

She sighed, looking out at the peaceful night outside her window.

The stars twinkled brightly, and a light breeze wafted through the trees, making the leaves shiver in the moonlight. All was well in Equestria, it seemed, but Penumbra was no longer so sure.

Here we are with the first official story installment of Limboverse!

Phew, I spent the majority of my day working on this piece- that background was a killer to do! I referenced so many screenshots to get this right, but I'm pleased with the results, nonetheless. Penumbra begins to have strange dreams- I wonder what they can mean? Find out in the next part of the story as soon as it comes out! While Hystericat and I will still be focusing on introducing character dynamics at the moment, I had an urge to post this up since it was done, hehe. You'll find out what sort of dreams Pen's happening soon enough. Enjoy, guys!
