Aphra is often perceived by others as standoffish, their outward demeanor appears unfriendly to those who don't know them. However they are quite warm once they are more comfortable around someone. They are incredibly honest and they have a strong sense of justice.
Aphra finds it difficult to connect with others, often dismissed because of their quiet nature. They are very socially awkward and often miss social queues, but they try really hard to make friends.

~Backstory~

Aphra was born into a small family in Desert nest. Their upbringing was uneventful but isolated. They were discouraged from interacting with caeli outside of their family. They only really know their immediate family, which is only their parents and grandparents.
Aphra would only watch from a distance as other caeli participated in festivals and watched performances, unable to attend due to their strict parents.
As they grew older they made it their mission to take part in what they missed out on as a child, as well as connect with distant relatives to connect more to their family.
They are incredibly curious about the customs and traditions of the caeli of Desert Nest, and they're determined to learn as much as they can from others.

~Relationships~

Friend?: Maha

Aphra's relationship with Maha couldn't exactly be called friendship, it's more so they annoyed Maha into letting them be around her. They had first encountered Maha when they snuck into one of her performances during a festival when they were a child. They were entranced with her then and they wanted to know more, but were unable to meet her until they gained independence as an adult. They found where she lived and made nearly daily visits to ask questions about her occupation. Maha found them more bothersome than anything at first, irritated they wouldn't take the hint to leave her home, or they would and simply come back the next day. As she came to know Aphra, the irritation turned more to tolerance, and she doesn't resent their visits quite as much these days.
