...this would be obvious, but OH no.Not so subtle jab at the wannabes who fav random art off the "new art" page without even looking at them... just for the pageviews when that artist comes to their page to thank them for the fav.
I consider that practice cheap and shallow, and offenders of this should be smacked. Stop abusing the favorite system for the pageviews!
Fav art because you LIKE it!!

Totally agree, although most of my favourites nowadays are from the front page, simply because I do not have the time to browse the whole system- and the images on the front page are generally good quallity away, most of the time. However, there is a difference between looking at the art and favouring it for the page views. For me, its simply because I either like a pairing or the art is inspiring for my college work.
Besides random fave-ings, some post comments constantly to get page views, most abusing the Japanese language, or lack spelling.

I always thought the idea of favoriting someones art was to be like "Hey! I faved this persons art, and I think it's wonderful, why don't you drop by and see if anything inspired you?" sort of deal.
Not mindless dribble for the sheer "need" of Pageviews.
I favorite what I like, and I want other people to see it too, I favorite sparingly! Show what you like, not what you think you want (that being views)!

Yeah, but I know someone who does it, and I just find the practice despicable. I don't want my art faved just because the person is hoping I'll drop by and say "Thanks."

I'm just baffled that people will abuse the system like that, taking advantage of less popular deviants who are thrilled something of theirs got faved, and in actuality it's some ass who just wants the pageview from them saying "Thank you for faving my art!"

you know, if i had the cash, i would form my own art site, without certian rules, but enfore the proper ones, and have a ability when an admin veiws the work and deems it sutible, sure if the site gets as large as DA (if it even exists) mor epeople might be needed and what-not, but still, then certian 'fan-arts' *coughnarutopairingscough* whould be kept under control
