Description
It's not mentioned anywhere that Scar killed his father. But it would make sense of all-benevolent Mufasa's lack of empathy towards his brother. And if I may draw more mythology into this, why Scar hates the song "It's a small world" is because Ahadi used to sing it to them when they were cubs, and it reminds of him of his treachery. I'd like to hear from you guys some more theories, against or pro.
UPDATE: A lot of 'against' theories are based on the fact that Mufasa would banish Scar from the Pride, had he seen his brother's act. Very agreeable. He wouldn't want a killer loose among his loved ones. But still, according to the canon, Mufasa forgave Scar when he tried to set a buffalo on him (which went wrong and gave taka the scar in return). Could it be that Scar pleaded with Mufasa and he forgave him? or maybe even Mufasa didn't really see Scar pushing Ahadi off the cliff, but just got there in time to see Scar standing there... putting on an act as he tried to save their father, but he lost the grip?
======What we learned======
Mufasa doesn't know Scar pushed him over. He looked like he was helping him. But something at the back of his mind nabs at Mufasa. Scar's story doesn't add up. He would keep an eye on his brother from then on.

I love the TLK fans creating their own theories, pictures and stories. This picture is good. As for the "It's a small world" being sung by Ahadi, I think that's pretty cheesy. Scar hates the song because that song is extremely annoying and hard to get out of your head. Just the mere mention of the song could make someone suffer its wrath for hours.

This theory seems entirely plausible. And entirely scary. Poor Ahadi; even though he wasn't the best father, he really didn't deserve to end up as the prelude to one of his son's deaths.

I agree with you about the buffalo, but think about Mufasa's actions for a minute.
If his brother had killed his father without a reason Mufasa considered inadequate, if the King even doubted his brother's actions in the slightest, I highly doubt Mufasa would let Simba go anywhere near his uncle without Mufasa there for protection. Mufasa knows the lionesses travel in groups, and he can protect himself, but his innocent little cub?
I just don't see it. My theory: Uru was Queen, daughter of Mohatu. She was killed by a stampede of buffalo protecting her son, Taka. Ahadi blamed his teenage son, and began to ignore Taka completely. After Sarabi and Taka's cub died, and she became Mufasa's Queen, Taka's resentment turned into hatred. Ahadi was probably left to wander the Pridelands ater Uru died, since Mufasa would become the new King. Trusted advisor, but nothing more.

From the books that Disney published, I think. There's the Lion King wiki as well.

I never thought up an "in character" reason for Scar to hate that song. I figured it was a joke on the fact that EVERYONE gets stuck on that ride at the Disney parks and has to listen to the song endlessly while they fix it. XD

What if it went something like this?
"You're never there for me! I hate you!" "How dare you say that, Taka! I've always-" "IT'S SCAR!!!" Hearing his own name...his old name... filled the brown lion with rage and hate, though not necessarily at Ahadi. But that's where the anger flowed at that moment, so Scar threw his weight forward and knocked Ahadi off the large cliff. They both landed on a small cliff, but Ahadi cried out as his back paws scrabbled for his hold.
"Son?! Help.." Scar turned around, freezing in fear of his father's position. "Son?!" Ahadi gasped as his Taka- for that would always be his name- grasped the yellow lion's wrists and pulled... then almost slipped himself. "Gunh." "Scar, leave me, go!" Scar let go for a moment, only a moment so he could pull himself up and get into a better position. "NO!" He screamed, for at that moment, the King lost his grip and plummetted to his death. "No..." Scar watched, transfixed, as the yellow body lay in a heap at the bottom of the gorge. He'd always hated his father. Hated him so bad it burned inside... but this? Technically murder? Never would he have wanted that. Not ever. He could only think that if he had had Mufasa's strength, he would have been able to save his father. And that thought? It was his slow decent to madness, to murder, to being... king. To be so strong, so powerful, something like this would never happen again.
Wow, sorry, long theory!

Thanks! I'm sorry it turned out to be so long. I usually never do that to other people's work. Maybe what Mufasa 'saw' in your picture, (if I base it on this theory thing I wrote) was when Scar froze. In case you can't tell, I think at one point Taka-Scar had a good side. Have a great day!

I don't actually think it does make sense that Scar would kill his father. He would know that as soon as Ahadi died, Mufasa would become king, which is the last thing he'd want. I love your picture though.

True, but removing Ahadi would only make his ascension to the throne sooner. Mufasa would have to go later.

Oh, a very interesting theory!
And personally, I could buy it, myself. If Mufasa stumbled upon it by accident and didn't see it too clearly, Scar could easily insist he was trying to save Ahadi when he really wasn't; leaving Mufasa to always wonder.

, my friend!
But yeah; something always made me think that Scar might have had something to do, with Ahadi's death! (My thoughts always swing back to more natural circumstances, when young males are driven from the pride -- either by the mature males, or else by a new coalition. In Mufasa's and Scar's case, I believe that they may have been forced out by Ahadi himself. Basically, because of the rivalry between them -- which ultimately led to their exile! Some time later, the brothers returned home. But while Mufasa had learned leadership and discipline, Scar had only resolved to hate being in the shadows even more! Hence, 'heads rolled' -- even months apart! Unfortunately, the forgiving and compassionate Mufasa, would become another casualty, of his brother's fight to usurp the throne! Which is rather sad, to say the least...)
I don't know if this makes any sense; but I do agree with the plausibility of Scar having committed more than one murder, during his lifetime -- it's just so typical of him!
Which makes me feel ever more, for the (very) young Simba, when his own time came, to witness Dad's demise...
An awesome pic, all the same!

Great art, an some very plausible theories however I have to agree with the fact that I highly doubt, having hypothetically witnessing his fathers murder...that Mufasa would allow Scar any where near his family and pride knowing his brother to be the killer.
So I am then agreeing that in the "What we learned" section, it is highly plausible that Mufasa may have seen the last moments as did Simba but not the perpetrator of this act of murderous glee.
He may have also gone with whatever little lies Scar then made to cover his tracks but as mentioned, it nags at him and this is where quite possibly the saying that "Keep your friends close and your enemies closer" may come in to play.
Over the years Mufasa (Like we see in the first movie) begins to give up on his brother but that just leaves room for scheming....

It's an interesting theory but to be honest, it doesn't work. I think Mufasa would have killed HIM for killing Ahadi or at least banished him. It would be way more believable if Mufasa didn't see it happen. He could have his suspicions I suppose, since he wouldn't have any proof and you can't convict somebody on a hunch. A suspicion would be enough to make Mufasa so adamant around Scar.
I really like the small world idea though, it's cute and kinda funny xD I've always imagined Scar didn't have a good relationship with his father. I know some of the spin off books from Disney say otherwise, but I always liked to imagine that Ahadi gave him that scar.
