Hi Ivanna,
I was trying to dig on the internet, and what I found so far is not as helpful as what I would like. Do you use RGB colors? If so, what RGB values did you use for the flesh color in your tutorial? I want to find colors that work and memorize them.
Thanks again!

I believe you have the same 'problem' I use to have: I wanted recipes. The thing is, with recipes you can follow a procedure exactly, but if you don't have fun experimenting on your own, the result will be lifeless and unoriginal. What I do, actually, is trying to use other artists' palettes, or directly take the colours from a photo. I take the trouble of getting the colour pick in Photoshop and picking up all the colours I like. I make a swatch and voilá. Of course, it doesn't guarantee success at all, but you can try that as well and see how it works for you.

How do you go about making the lines a diffrent color? LIke you have done here with the tan/brown outlines?

Ehrm... I used to have a tutorial explaining exactly that, but I must have deleted it! I can't find it. I'll make one for tomorrow. It's very easy, and in Photoshop you can do it once and record it like an action so it's a piece of cake afterwards.

Very helpful to someone having a hard time coloring thank you. The first couple steps separating the lines and background already taught me a better way in doing it. Now the gradient tool never thought of using that.

cool trick with the channels panel.
what is that button (in step 3) called? what does it do? (seems to select the white area... hmm)

IvannaMatilla In reply to Reflective-Sentinal [2011-02-26 13:36:54 +0000 UTC]
Exactly, it selects the white area so you can delete it afterwards to have only the black lines.

seems weird that that little button doesn't have a name in any refference I could find.
a useful little trick.
