Ok this is an issue I've been meaning to touch upon for a while now. We should all know by now that most of the Sonic fandom can't respect opinions at all, and will call people who like games they disliked idiots who don't know about quality. That's already bad enough but you want to know what's even worse? People calling others tasteless for liking games THAT THEY'VE NEVER EVEN PLAYED BEFORE! I've seen people who've admitted they never touched games like Lost World or Rise of Lyric yet still feel the need to insult people who like them anyway (I'm not going to name anybody here though if they're reading this you should know who you are). Now I'm not saying you guys don't have the right to express your opinion that the game doesn't look very interesting to you, but if you see people who do like the game you should just ignore them rather then force them to realize that they're wrong for liking the game. Like I've never played Sonic Shuffle and I probably never will since it looks like a mediocre Mario Party clone, but I'm not just going to criticize someone just for expressing a positive opinion about that game, though then again I probably wouldn't do that even if I have played the game. Bottomline is you can decide rather or not a Sonic game looks interesting to you, but you shouldn't be a dick and bully someone who is interest in the game cause at that point you're no better than the Sonic hatedom.Related content

I personally just play Sonic games for myself and form my own opinion on them, without listening to others. I actually ended up enjoying Lost World and Forces, even if those games do have some glaring flaws.

I'm neutral to Lost World at the moment, and I like Rise of Lyric.

I've brought this up many times, but it's funny that only now someone is a dick for saying things about people who like a certain game when it was ok for years, but not it's certainly a bad thing because it's someone else's opinion, even though most of those people were the same ones who caused all the arguing in the first place and set that standard when they insulted kids for liking 06 and Unleashed and calling them furries. Nobody ever got criticized for that.

If someone says to me "just turn off your brain and enjoy it" then to me, they are to some extent tasteless. You shouldn't need to turn of your brain to enjoy something, and by that logic you would have no standards. But yeah, if you don't like the look of a game or or dislike one you played, you can express your dislike but you don't have to shut down someone else for liking it, I get ya.

This reminds me of when I did a Sonic Retrospective where I talked about games that I've played. Then after I finished it someone accused me for being a Sonic Hater, all because I disliked Sonic Colors. I didn't attack anyone for liking it, I just expressed my opinions on the game and just moved on.

I don't have a problem with it if people have legit criticisms on the game after playing it for themselves because by you at least have a base (doesn't mean it has to be right). There's also nothing wrong with a disagreement neither because no one will like what you like and vice versa. But yeah judgement based on nothing but empty self feelings that are being pushed into existence rather than presented in a genuine manner is being an asshole so I agree Jacob.
