I think the difference in eyes is based on the region in the movie. Like Ariel and Belle are from Europe, and Jasmine and Mulan are more from Asia.

Yup, very true. It is interesting how the basics for the eyes remain the same but little changes are done to make each heroine different from each other and also fit their respective cultures.

All that's left to explain is the male faces. Gotta have males...

You're welcome!

I have definitely thought about doing a tutorial on Disney's male faces. Maybe in the future when things slow down I'll make one.

have i to use a pencil or the computer to do that?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

jacquelynvansant In reply to princessecartman [2010-05-16 21:19:39 +0000 UTC]

You can do either way. For this tutorial, I actually did all of the parts traditionally (pencil and paper) and then scanned them. It just depends on what you are most comfortable with.

If you do use the computer, I recommend putting the guidelines (circle, facial cross) on a separate layer from the rest of the drawing. This way you can hide the guidelines after you finish drawing and not have to worry about "erasing".

Unfortunately, the link to the picture is not working.

But that is a fantastic idea! I love fairytale-like stories, and your idea has all the classic elements but in an original way.

That's very interesting! I surely will give it a try! I had no idea Ariel and Belle's eyes were that different, considering they were modeled after the same woman
