Normally I'd sketch something on paper, then trace and finalize it on Illustrator and Photostop, which is what I did for the main view of the design depicted on the left, though there are instances that I instantly craft something straight from Illustrator without a sketch. This is one of these cases.

I created these rear view of the armor to help me understand better as to how the wings can fold into a cape, while providing another angle for other artists, animators and/or modelers.

Originally I planned to have the Insignia of Infernatrux (www.deviantart.com/jakeburner/… ) carved on the back, with the wing membranes marked on the wings/cape, as it is sewed on the back of Drake's jacket, however I couldn't find out a way to fit everything into place, so I decided to scrap the idea.
