I don't do fan art very often, but was inspired by my recent re-playing of the PSX RPG classic, Xenogears! Wanted to treat it as if it were a book cover for the first of a 3 part series. Hopefully I'll have two more coming down the pipeline in the future.Other Xeno-Paintings

The picture is real nice, but lord if Fei's stupidity in game didn't make it outrageously hard to empathize with him.

Personally, I couldn't stand that game (I quit when it became all about the characters sitting in a chair and vomiting up paragraphs of pretentious exposition). But HOLY HECK that painting is gorgeous. It almost makes me reconsider my strong dislike of that game.

Thanks! Yeah that's more or less what I was going for. I was shooting for more of a general representation of the emotional relationship between Fei and Weltall as opposed to an exact scene from the game. But the destruction of Lahan pretty much sums it up haha.

This is probably my favourite Xenogears art of all time! Have you considered doing an illustration of the oldschool Elements at all?

Thanks! I did have some ideas regarding the Elements actually. I figured if I ever did a painting of Ramsus, I'd probably include the Elements in there too. Pretty unlikely that I'll get to it any time soon (if ever), but it's always fun to think about.

Even though they didn't have a ton of screen time, the Elements were always my favourite characters in the game. There was something about the relationship they shared that seemed really special and real, forging ahead on their own paths but never really forgetting their past camaraderie.
A Ramsus and Elements painting would be seriously badass, definitely one I would hang on my wall

Fantastic piece, and perhaps one of the best Xenogears-related works I've seen in some time.
After all these years it has remained as my favorite RPG of all time.

I like how there is like some sort of desperation in Fei here and how Weltall (think that's how you spell it), how dangerous and deadly it is, is the only option of protecting those around him.

Theres 2 things wrong with this, not a big deal but looks a little odd with his shirt so baggy and his belt is purple. Awesome picture otherwise though.

I've played Xenogears like three times already. And this painting made me want to play it one more time. Its one of the best RPGs ever, and this is one of the best fan arts i've seen. Wonderful work.

well I was looking for a list of best rpgs and Xenogears is often on those lists so I don't think it will ever be forgotten ;3.
It is just so good ;w;! and i am suprised because I have never really been into mecha. Maybe it is the more fantasy elements I enjoy about it.
Also the idea of 'shaking the heavens' is too damn cool to pass up.

Yeah I honestly am not very into mechs either. The game's greatness definitely comes more from its plot and characters (which I didn't even fully understand the first time I played through it years ago).
