Very nice perspective, I like the way bit's kind of askew, like when ppl feel dispair things seem kind of askew. What really captures my attention is the darkness of black, which seems somehow appropriate for the title...or the title seems somehow appropriate for it.

Is going to jail?
You said shes going away for a while....
Great composition on this shot.
I like the sharp contrast of the tires curves against the solid lines of the brik wall.
I like how dark the B&W are.
It adds a "gritty" inner city "despair" to the photo.
It helps issolate the elements of the image.
If this had been in color, it would have been just another picture of a tire.
Yo, dat be d'spair I was talking 'bout!

nice shot man, very dull and muter - it fits well with the title, also it seems a very dynamic shot the angle all lead the eye into the distance - but at the foreground there is that tire going against it all. the lighting and depth of field are also great.
good stuff.

This is a tire.. just a tire... no one wants to see just a tire. What a waste of space.

I'm not x_X I just visited this gallery cause I was curious and its my opinion that a picture of a tire isn't very interesting... I mean... its just a tire.

Ok. Then I suggest you use better judgement and not come to his page and leave comments like the one you left. If in your opinion his level was low, you just stooped to it. Like I said in the other comment, if you think someone is harrassing you or a fellow deviant don't lash out further you'll only make the problem worse. If its an isolated case ignore it and move on , if it's not report it.
Again if you have any questions note me from here on out.

I just expressed an opinion.. if he disagrees with my opinion he's very welcome to disagree with it... I'm not stooping to his level by insulting him or constantly bashing his picture. I merely said I didn't much care for the picture. Please stop following me. It's very creepy.

Man, I don't know what to say. You took something really mundane and made it look beautiful. The perspective and angle, along with the B&W gives this tire so much character. I wish you would have captured the bottom of the tire in the frame, but that doesn't matter.
Keep it up...
PS: thanks for your comment on "After the Storm" [link] I really appriciate it.

I like this shot alot ... the way that there is more darkness then light is cool too ... and the main focus is the tire which is totally weird ... in a way ... atleast I think it is ...

I love the black and white here...The lighting is awesome. I love how it gets black toward the right edge of the frame. Your composition is great too. I can't really tell what's happening on the top left corner (where it's very dark and has really bright light in it, seems), but I like it overall. Very neat harsh effect.

I love the detail in the bricks. What's color burning as opposed to just burning?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
JamesBardolph In reply to tophyr [2004-01-21 07:59:17 +0000 UTC]
You use the burn tool to manually " increase the exposure to darken areas of a print" (Photoshop Help)
Colour burn is a layer type, and does the whole image. Why it's called colour burn, I think it's because when you apply it to a colour image it gives the colours a kind of burning look. Try it yourself and see :]
There is also linear burn, which gives a similar result, but I don't know what it means :]
