Description
This image is a personal project, so doesn't belong to anyone else, i.e. a client. The non-exclusive license of this image is £30.Rough concept painting, inspired by a Ryan Church DVD tutorial. Pleased.
I used a default photoshop round brush which I flattened. No initial plan to the design so it came about through happy accidents.

Thanks again Mr Green. You MUST get hold of a Ryan Church DVD - the particular one I used to inspire me here was 'Techniques of Ryan Church 3: Rendering Hi-Tech Architecture'. You'll find it on Amazon. He uses 'Painter' (not photoshop as I do) but the principles and techniques are virtually identical. He really got me going. He explains everything as he does his compositions in real-time. I recommend him 100%.

thanks, this sounds like one more for me to get... i have a doug chiang book here, art of starwars, naturally, and watched recently a tut from leventep... but sounds really worth getting if i can reach your level someday

Doug is great, but I don't know if he does DVD's. It won't take long with a Dylan or a Ryan. Also there is James Clyne. Good luck!

I recommend getting a tutorial DVD by Ryan Church. He shows you how to do it. Obviously it still takes practice but not forever. Thanks again by the way!

Hi Ray. I always make stuff up as I go along. Though I was inspired by a DVD tutorial by Ryan Church initially. I wanted to do a city but had no idea how it would turn out. As it came together I went with the fact it seemed underground, and reinforced the idea.
