Description To view this tutorial it needs to be downloaded.

This tutorial is designed to compliment my Blood Brush Pack and takes you through creating a blood effect step by step. The tutorial will work equally well with other blood brushes and custom shapes if the correct texture is applied.

The tutorial is designed primarily for those relatively new to PS though more advanced users may find it helpful.

Again crediting is not required (though it’s always nice to see how the tutorial came in useful and any links to work done using it will at the very least earn you a comment). I only ask that if you find the tutorial useful please add a (favourite), it makes all the hard work worthwhile and helps others to benefit from the resource.

Hey, I have a question....
I'm not to sure what happened but it used to be where I took out the brush and I saw a little outline of the brush before I clikced it down. Now, all I see is this little cross and when I click down I see the brush. How do I get it to where I can see the outline of the brush before I click it down? I have Photoshop Elements 7 by the way....it should be the same for all PS though

Theres no problem, you just have to resize the brush.

The crosshair is just the center of the whole brush, and when thats the only thing visible that means that the brush stretches out farther than your canvas does.

Just make the brush smaller until desired size.

Hmm, when I try to create, another blood effect using a different brush, in a different layer, the new colour balance layer affects the old effect, so I have one normal colour blood stain, and one totaly off. How can I have the colour balance layer only affect certain layers?

i had the same issue. what i did was i took the brush and changed the mode to "multiply" and changed the color to red and stamped directly back over where i had before. presto..turned out alright for me! =]

I have Photoshop 6.0

I don't have any of that.

I have Layer > New adjustment layer
but no where in there is "color balance"
or anything to do with colors. ;w;

it appears I can't find a single tutorial to help me.

YukiShiido [2007-06-28 05:00:36 +0000 UTC]

Oh wait, I see... I have the background as clear, so the brushes aren't affected. Crap; I wanted the brushes to be red and nothing else...

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 0

YukiShiido [2007-06-28 04:57:32 +0000 UTC]

Something's wrong with my Photoshop; it's not doing it. I hit "Color Balance" and it keeps the brushed color as black even with +100 red. If I don't select "group with previous layer", it turns the other layers red and leaves the brushed part alone, even though the brushed part is on a seperate layer...

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 0

Azura-Huskie [2007-06-05 08:34:36 +0000 UTC]

weird. when i do that color balance, instead of doing the stains, it does taht and the whole pictures. and i only want the stains to be red. D: so right now im doing it one by one.
