The execution, palette and gesture on this piece are fantastic. My only question is why is her face devoid of expression? She is in a more or less power pose breaking out of a glass prison. The man is reacting with surprise, but her face is slack and doesn't help convey this moment to me.

I aggree with you entirely. I often find myself at odds with this kind of thing. She should definitely have a much more specific expression on her face, but I knew that if I did anything to her face to make her look less 'attractive' then the client would have asked me to change it. So, as much as this is an action piece, as far as I can understand it, the client also wants it to have an element of Pin-Up or 'Cheesecake' appeal to it.
That's not to say that a more specific expression couldn't be attractive, but I think I tend to play it safe to make sure that I get the work approved. I'm not sure that's the best or right way to do it, but it's the way it happened

This is AMAZING ! Β The energy Β and Β action here is unbelievable . The colors lighting Β and Β details Β are incredible. I have perused and admired Β art for many , many years, and I have to say this one is in a class all to itself. Β A true Masterpiece. If I had money right now I would be very much wanting to buy a large print of this. Β A true show stopper. Β Worthy of an award.

Incredible detail, this is absolutely amazing!
Any chance you record your process, or livestream?
Any insight into how you achieve this amount of detail, would be invaluable.

I fear that a video of me working would be horribly boring It tends to involve me scratching away at different areas of the illustration until it (very) slowly comes together.
I think the amount of detail is simply down to how long I spend on a piece. I don't think I work all that quickly, I'm quite meticulous and usually zoom in fairly close when I'm rendering.

Fear not! What is boring to you, is actually gold for up and coming artists!
Unfortunately, my impatience overrules my attention to detail.

If I could impart anything at all to up and coming artists, it would be Patience. If you can learn to be patient with your work ( and with yourself), you will undoubtedly get better. It took me years to accept this, but the sooner you do the better you will be.

Love your use of cool colors and the composition of the piece. All the detail paid to lighting all the objects in the scene....beautifully done!
