Description
Thanks to em3 for giving me permission to finish and release this skin.And thanks for the help while I was working on the skin.
As a long time LE fan, it's very cool to release my own version and share it with the rest. Some parts are made by em3 though so I cant take credit for those parts.
Anyways thanks em3 for letting me do this!

Go to "C:\WINDOWS\Resources\Themes" and create a new folder called "LE Black".
Put the *.msstyle into that folder.
To use this theme you need to patch the Windows system file uxtheme.dll. You can read about how to do that here: [link]
If you want to use the included Logon place 'logonui_black.exe' in C:\ and run the included logonui_install.reg.
Bugs
Before reporting any bugs try and think of and explaination why the bug occurs and don't assume immediately it's a VS problem. Here are 2
"bugs" I know of:
* Black text background for checkboxes in some applications. (Application bug)
* In Firefox the scrollbar glyph doesn't change color on hover. (Firefox bug)
* Multi row taskbar does not look good. (Theme)

Bug fixes and updates:
14-06-07:
- Fixed classic color scheme.
- Fixed password box in the logon screen. It still had blue corners.
17-06-07:
- Added the new blue active-button. Active-buttons now looks different then hovered-buttons.
- Changed the HotTracking color to the correct shade of orange.
- Fixed the blue shadow that was behind the "Welcome" text in the logon.
- Fixed other minor color "bugs"
18-06-07:
- Added a shellstyle cause the demand was high.
- Made the hover in the columns in detail views more noticable.
- Some minnor unnoticable color changes.
20-06-07:
- Updated the shellstyle text and arrow colors
- Fixed the useraccount dialog colors in the shellstyle
23-06-07:
- Fixed the blue searchpane to black
- Changed the brightness from "pressed button". It fits more with the theme now.

I love the theme, but this might be a dumb question, I ran the patch and did everything in the instructions, and still can't see the theme on my list. Any help? (from anyone really

Are you sure that you put the theme folder in the correct folder?
The correct folder is: C:\WINDOWS\Resources\Themes
Just extract the folder LE Black into that folder and then it should work
If you still cant see it on the theme's list try to double click the *.msstyle, that should work if you installed the patch correct

I love this theme. It's extremely clean, and I don't think I've ever seen another theme as thorough. I do have a request. Could you make multiple other versions with different colors for the start button... like for instance.. the same as the new orb start button in windows vista (that shade of blue), maybe a greenish one also? I have a good reason, also. In Vista, and in your theme, the task bar buttons highlight in that orange shade, except a little brighter, when the window is active. I use multiple monitors, and I often find myself glancing up at the start button because it is the same color as what normally would be an active window -- like an unanswered or unviewed Instant Message. Other than that, I think it's fabulous!

Absolutely love the theme. But it crashes explorer.exe when I switch to the theme as well as when Windows XP Pro boots. Looks like this one's a no go. All my other styles work just fine.

It's not a theme bug cause I havent had that comment from anyone yet. It works fine for myself as well so.. Is LE 5.1 Blue working the correct way?

I downloaded a few more styles after posting and it appears that only certain styles crash explorer. After some playing, I believe I found the culprit to be Alfaclock, the free version of the overlayed taskbar clock. Uninstalling that solved my problems. I now use tclock2 which IS compatible from my findings.

Ooh found a bug: when you right click on the desktop and point to 'New', the text is highlighted black on black. Should be white on black

Woa been using 5.05 Black for ages - didn't even know this was out!
Interesting is all I can say now... it's quite alot different to the one I was using (which was amazing). From green to orange - I really liked the way it was in 5.05, the orange start button really glows now! Sorry I don't like this new colour change... and what happened to Google? It's transformed because of this theme! I'll just have to get used to that, I guess. Actually the more i look at this theme, the more im liking it! Oh and another thing - why, why, why get rid of the start menu image and put my user name in pixeled italics?

This theme doesnt change Google cause that's not possible. If you are using Internet Explorer you probably mean the box where you type a word in for a search. That's an unfixable bug. For the startmenu, I had to use the guidelines from LE 5.1 Blue so I kept the startpanel like that as well. If you turn on Cleartype the text wont be pixeled but smooth.
If you want to use the shellstyle you have to activate them in "Folder options". Go to "My computer" > "Extra" in the menu bar > "Folder options" then click the top radio button with "Common tasks".

Yea I meant that box thing in Google.
I followed your instructions (it was 'Tools' rather than 'Extra' for me) and the top radio button is already checked. So does that mean I'm already using the Luna Element Black shellstyle? It's white with grey bars where the arrows are.
Also, I hate using Cleartype cuz that just hurts my eyes. I'll just have stick with it's pixelness lol.

It goes: C: Windows > Recourses > Themes. LE Black visual style is in there along with the folder BlackC (which contains the shellstyle).

Download the file again and extract the contents from the rar file. Then move the "LE Black" folder directly to the "Themes" folder. The right click your desktop and select Luna Element Black on the appearance tab. Now the shellstyles should work

This is the original VS. This VS is nothing like the Blue version and should not be compared with each other. LE 5.1 Blue and Black are 2 different skins. Before black was just a recolor from blue. This time they are completely different skin. To make this short: There wont be another update with a new tray in it

Does this skin work with Windows Vista, too? There is no Vista installation I could possibly test it on now but I am afraid it actually won't

This one is stricktly for XP. The skins system has changed in Vista so XP skin wont work for Vista. You can use Skinstudio to import it to Windowblinds and then use it on Vista.

You mean that you want a black startbutton? It wont happens cause the startbutton is supposed to be that way and the skin is finished.

I liked the black start button in LE5 and then was surprised when I saw it's orange in 5.1. But then get used to it.

Love it. Been using it for a few days and found no big problems yet. The best I've tried. Live the orange progress bars.
One small issue: When right click in Windows Explorer and goto New the menu items are highlighted in black and the text is black. This is a minor issue and does not bother me, but I've noticed it.

The update is really cool, I like it a lot. And you know what? The orange startbutton looks really cool, great job!
Btw: Now that you've made a shellstyle, shouldn't you delete the following line from your description?
"There's no shellstyle included with this skin so please disable them. It looks better without shellstyles"
