I like this tutorial because you don't need fancy charm accessories to string them. just wire, simple wire <3
Well done, I may do this sometime.

What's an easy way to paint on the guaze if it's hard to hold the little things? Also, what's a good way for hanging the buggers?

What type of clay do you normally use?
And when you put glaze on do you normally just dip your charms in then use a paint brush. I really want to make these! and ILOVE your tutorial

these are very cute ^^
I have a question though I've been looking into buying a glaze for my painted charms and I've heard the sculpey glaze can mess with the colors of your paints have you ever had a problem like that? and does have you ever had problems with your glaze chipping? Thanks ^^

I personally use acrylic paint, I think it's the only paint you can use for clay. Don't know for sure, I'm still a beginner.

awww~!!! >w< cute!
May i ask you how to pervent your clay from cracking in the oven!?

janeybaby In reply to SabakunoGaaby [2010-02-01 08:58:48 +0000 UTC]
mm i just try not to put it in for too long. and i set the heat slightly lower than the instructions say.
the best way is to put a piece in to test how high u need ur temperature and how long u need it in there for it to be strong without cracking, i think

Lucky that non of your charms fall out of its pins. Even after I glue mine, it still comes out, so now I tend to make a fold at the end before pushing it in. But I was curious to know what type of polymer you're using, like the brand? It looks like Sculpey Light to me.

Hi,
Hi, yeah i am using Sculpey for mine.
I actually started bending a few zigzags in my pins before i pushed them in and they seem to hold very well

the clay is actually quite light, although it doesn't look that way and the charms are quite small, also

oh. thanks, did you use polymer clay? coz i used ceramic. Some of my works were destroyed because it was to thin. Is polymer clay more durable?

janeybaby In reply to princesstrawberry27 [2009-09-09 12:44:44 +0000 UTC]
aw no that's terrible.
yeah it is polymer clay. polymer clay is durable as long as u don't make it into sheets or thin long pieces.

Oh wow! This is amazing!
They turned out very cute (: .
But I'm just curious, when you apply the Sculpey Gloss, did you brush it on there or did you dip the charm in the gloss?

janeybaby In reply to ahppple [2009-09-07 11:41:38 +0000 UTC]
sorry the LONG awaited reply... i have been out of action on DA for a long time lolz.
if ur still interested, i brush it on because dipping it gets a lot of drips and makes the bottom uneven.

from any craft store should have those things like clay and the tools, if not the tools can go to a hardware store
