It's a female katydid, grasshoppers tend to have longer, more cylindrical abdomens.

He'll need to feed it apples first, then fry it before he can dip it in chocolate.

meh trifles. I prefer grass to insects anyway.

On the other hand, while I prefer apples over insects, I don't like insects to eat my grass.

Yes but we don't have to deal with insects eating the grass only the ones who eat us. And I like apples better then grass but it depends on the apple.

Very true: I love Fuji, Macintosh, and Granny Smith, but I despise Washington Red, and while I have no ill feelings for Golden Delicious, it fails to thrill me.

No its an actual breed or whatever of apples. They're the best that I've had for a really long time. Honeygold are also good. They're grown in Minnesota so thats where I get them.

haha yeah, i guess i have a love hate relationship with a few, like spiders for instance. when they are in my bed or house, i hate them. however when they are outside they eat misquitos, which i hate worse than spiders, so they are okay outside

I believe the little guy would be more appealing if he were on a plant. Have you ever been bitten by a grasshopper before?

It's a her, as only female grasshoppers and katydids have an ovidepositor (the sword-like tail that's used to deposit the eggs in some substrate, ie, soil, plant tissue).
