Dear sweet Celestia, I was just being curious. I've just never seen a cutie mark with a purely "cosmetic" (in the sense of having nothing to do with its bearer's cutie mark ability) aspect to its design before.

It DOES have everything to do with her talent but the design of it was meant to look like while representing her talent.
She is an engineer who specializes in making of prosthetic limbs.

So basically, mechanical heart (which are also a common choice for prosthetic parts)rosthesis engineer? Also, when I said "cosmetic aspect", I meant "There's 1 part to the mark that's there for show", not "the mark is non-indicative of her ability". I thought you were saying the gears where what had to do with it, & the heart was there for show.

She got her cutie mark for making her friend (onyx) a fake leg after he lost his real one. The heart (although used to make her cutie mark girly and pretty) represents her kindness for the act but her real talent is engineering.

Ah. I get the feeling my pony avatar would like to have somepony like her as a friend (he's a total techno-geek who at least TRIES to put family & friends first when he can, & his mark is a laptop keyboard).

Despite being an engineer Mecs is a ditz. She barely understands computers or how they work despite the fact she makes them.
