I should really share her backstory so I will ^^
Kimono is part of the original Crystal Empire Guard from when Sombra was in power.
She was of course logically part of the resistance that fought to reclaim the kingdom alongside the Princesses -however they fought long before the Princesses even got involved-
She however was captured and kept as one of Sombra's personal maids to torture her. So she was reduced from a high ranking guard captain to a slave.
She was forced daily to watch her beloved kingdom fall to ruin and the citizens she tried to hard to protect be tortured and killed.
When the Empire was freed 1000 years later she was one of the first to pledge her service to Princess Cadence and Prince Shining Armor.
She now serves them and her home loyally.

Because most people who are mentally insane and labeled as such have little control over their thoughts and actions. So wouldn't be able to accurately decide if someone was friend or foe.

Well, yes judging by the everyday morals, insane people lack it, but I think they still have their own set of rules what's wrong and what is right, as alien as they may be. Maybe it's just 'The sink is evil' or something, but it's still some kind of moral.
Also, I thought you asked if I was freind or foe earlier? So it doesn't matter to her?
