I'm trying a new approach to my painting and looking at blocks of colour.It is very different but I'm kind of enjoying it

I LOVE this new direction. I've been a fan of your work all along, but this is even more exciting to me - it's got a sculptural feel, and it leaves a little of the interpretation to the viewer. I mean, if something is too accurate, there's not much left for the viewer to do, you know?*
*disclaimer: i'm totally doing literal stuff at the moment but I'm absolutely dying to loosen up! My plan is to get really confident with the foundations before I start playing around, because I don't want to get sloppy with the *looking* part. Dali was a great draftsman before he went all surreal... it's important to get a handle on the basics first. Just as you have! So I'm really REALLY excited by this new work and I'm so pleased to see that the transition can be done.

Joan Mitchell's another artist you may wanna look at, 'cause her paintings deal a lot with pieces of color. This is a wonderful piece, with a really astounding sense of light. There's a lot to it, with a palette that seems limited but isn't at all upon closer viewing.

His work is beautiful it remind me of an Australian artist called Michael Herron who has similar approach to blocks of colour.
