I used the difference clouds method till i had something that looked cool. Then i trimed up the sides. After that i just painted in the biomes.

It's done in photos hop cs5. I just used foliage brushes with varying opacity. I used the chalk eraser for the outline of the continents.

I used photoshop cs5. I made the outline of the land by erasing with the chalk brush. The detail was made with a foliage brush with a variety of opacity

Well the thryms are from the tundra, but I haven't come up with any arctic creatures. And yes Alien planet and Expedition were huge inspirations lol
