Description
woah, first a devID now this? Woot, my first tutorial! I can't believe I found the time to make one!Once upon a time, someone had asked me how I did colored lineart, and I had been meaning to make a tutorial on it. Someone also asked me how I colored my pictures, well several somebodies, but I'll do that later. For now I decided to make a tutorial on lineart. Lately my weapon of choice for drawing pictures is Open Canvas. X3 I couldn't draw lineart on photoshop (Least I haven't learned how to manipulate the brushes that way) but Open Canvas lines come out very smoothly as if drawing with pencil on paper.
I wasn't sure how big I should make this tutorial and had a bit of trouble with the images. Mostly in that they're rather large, but the windows are very small...ee, Please do forgive the size of this thing, it is my first tutorial. I figured I should practice making one with lineart first. The tutorial for coloring shall be much neater and more organized. X3
Hope this helps some of you with Open Canvas. Although you could do the same thing on photoshop to make the final lineart as well, if you're feeling ambitious and have time. In photoshop you change the layer style to 'multiply' for the second layer and definately zoom in so you can shape the contours of the line. (a lot of erasing will be used...)
If you're not using computers to make your lineart, draw your sketch with a pencil and ink it with pen. No ball-point pens though! (JB prefers Sakura micropens of .01, .02, or .05 ) However, you don't have the luxury of being terribly messy with your initial sketch. So try not to draw too hard with your pencil, it should all look light. Otherwise, it will become harder to erase the sketch later. Once you have the sketch done, use the pen to ink the drawing, much in the way I did up there with tracing my sketch. Then wait for the ink to dry completely and use a good eraser and erase all the pencil off of the picture. You should then be left with a good clean inked drawing.
Most of you probably know all this, but for those that don't I hope this tutorial helps some.
Oh yeah for anyone who cares to know, tis Rurouni Kenshin characters that my friend Kone and I adopted. Behold Ayame Gensai and Yutaro Tsukyama.

lol, thank you! (wow someone's done that? ouch!) I am very tempted to do more, I just need to sit down and slow down when I'm doing a work and not forget to screencap. lol, I have a tendency to skip around steps sometimes...

Adorable! Sadly, since I'm not an artist I'll never be able to put this tutorial to use or understand it. . But I really like the piccie of Ayame x Yutaro cuteness! Just so you know, I check your DA page obsessively hoping you have submitted something new. And you diiiiiiid!
Anywho, hope school is going okay for you and I look forward to when you finally return to IM. I really miss talking to you!

This is pretty cool! (But OC doesn't undo deletions?? T.T That makes me very sad.)
Hahaha. I don't think I'll ever understand digital art, but I always check out folks's tutorials just to see their process. Perhaps someday, it will make sense. XD
