Description This is my first tutorial. It's a basic method of blending backgrounds.

Like I said in the tutorial, this doesn't always work. It mostly depends on the images you're using, their perspectives, colours, etc. Sometimes you may have to adjust the lighting and whatnot on one or all of the images you're using.

Also, though I'm sure this goes without saying, this won't work with things that need to be sharp. For example, you can't use this method to blend rocky surfaces into the sky.

If you use this tutorial you don't have to credit me. Though I would appreciate a fave if you find it helpful.

simple, yet efficient. i'm stunned!
unfortunately, as you said, it only works with simple backgrounds that don't require a very complex selection marquee (sp?) or a lot of re-touching the pics...
maybe you could make another tut, the next time you stumble on a particularly tough background?! i'd LOVE to see it!

I'll definitely do that sometime. The next time I'm making something that has a more complex background, I'll turn it into a tutorial. This is the background I'm using for my current manip, and I thought it would make a good first tutorial for me. I'm glad you like it.

YAY! I do this sometimes already, but somehow they never turn out quite so perfect... humph.

Really? Maybe you just need to play around with the amount of feathering and the images? Sometimes just moving one of the pictures up or down a little bit helps, too.

hm. i never really thought of that, i've always just been the kind to stick it on there and make it work, without changing what I've done, lol. probably part of my problem :]

Lol, yeah that could be. I'm like that sometimes, too. But I usually try to play around with things a little first. My worst problem is that if I can't get one little thing to work, I usually delete the whole image and start a new one from scratch. No wonder it seems I never get anything done.

haha now that seems depressing. I would just die before completely scraping anything, probably why I don't get things done. I simply HAVE to finish them. It would make sense as to why it seems nothing gets done though...

I wish I was one of those people who had to finish things. It's a good habit to get into, because sometimes they turn out better than you think, but you never know until you finish. I try, and sometimes I can force myself to finish, but it's not always easy.

haha yeah well I can't force myself to finish somethings, like calculus homeowrk, or some of these damn scholarships, but I've been more the type with my art :]
