Materials and Methods
Nikon D80 + 18-55mm Nikkor + IR remote. Exp +3.0. Window lighting from the side against an angled white wall. GIMP for post editing. Darkened highlights to get rid of the blotches of white over exposure and lightened midtones. Minor color balancing with curves. Not much else.
Additional Comments
Slowly chugging through Zen and Art of Motorcycle Maintenance. I'm not fond of the literary style but I find the Sutherlands interesting. I find it rather illogical to believe that machines, as the children of human intellect, could possibly dehumanize us. Rather, machines may help us define and realize our very humanity

That's a great way to cross advertise shoes, amps, and head phones.

I'm not usually fond of pictures with the eyes cropped out, but I think it really works with the quote you themed this piece on. Some people find the eyes to be the most personal party of a human and removing them, which technology does more and more often, "dehumanizes" them in a way.
Plus, those are pretty lips and there's a lot of white in the picture. Beautiful picture, and congrats on the DD.

photographically I think it's a beautiful photo. I love the light, I love the cropped face, and the negative space. But I just dont get why she's sitting on a guitar amp. Yeah she's wearing head phones, but they arent even plugged into it they go off screen. Just kinda confusing for me, maybe since Im a musician and dont see the point of having an amp as something to sit on, lol.

Haha the headphones and amp are just supposed to represent technology as entities to be commanded and employed (ie we must be both literally and figuratively be on top of)
