Materials and Methods
Nikon D80 + 18-55mm Nikkor + IR remote. Exp +3.0. Window lighting from the side against an angled white wall. GIMP for post editing. Darkened highlights to get rid of the blotches of white over exposure and lightened midtones. Minor color balancing with curves. Not much else.
Additional Comments
Slowly chugging through Zen and Art of Motorcycle Maintenance. I'm not fond of the literary style but I find the Sutherlands interesting. I find it rather illogical to believe that machines, as the children of human intellect, could possibly dehumanize us. Rather, machines may help us define and realize our very humanity

Crashing through conventional rules of composition, you've achieved yet another fine image. The way you handled the lighting and the post correction do a fine job of making the white of the dress stand out from the background. I love the subject matter too. You're fast becoming one of my favourite photographers.
I agree with your assessment of Zen and the Art, and of machines too.

I've been considering reading that book for a while now; do you recommend it? Is "chugging" a fast or slow thing? I'm "grinding" my way through Atlas Shrugged at about 1% of my usual reading speed...

I love that book!
I may just be a bit older than u, but I remember a time when people used to call each other, write each other, communicate on a personal level. It seems like people are getting more rude, self absorbed with a sense of entitlement or just more distant from each other in general. Why call when u can txt? Why spend time out in the wilds of nature when you can stay inside and watch it on your crystal clear LED TV? Why struggle with social interactions and dating when there are websites that find your perfect match? I don't think machines should not define us. But they have been. I mean...isn't there an app for that?
Sorry for the rant. I just loved that book. It took reading it twice to get it though. GO PHAEDRUS!
On a completely separate and more important note. Love your work! Especially the temperature of most of your photos. They always look so fresh and clean.

wonderful beautiful idea. the blank space is ver appriciated in the picture, not needing. She almost blends, and she looks so pale and soft, and her shoes and headphones and amp give great contrast. wonderful to look at

And one suggestion for the book, definitely keep at it, it ends in a completely different place than it begins.
