The Undead KaijuPart One
Godzilla
The following is a report from Dr. Honda: Head of the GDF Anti Bacterial Unit.
It began on Monster Island. A large meteorite being tracked by the GDF crashed dangerously close to the magma pits where Godzilla was resting. Godzilla awoke and slowly lifted himself off the ground. He turned his head in the direction of the meteorite. Strange green fumes were being emitted from the crash site. Godzilla got close to investigate. The moment he breathed in the fumes he began to show signs of frustration. He began to appear weak and eventually collapsed. An hour past before Godzilla woke again but this time he was different.
His eyes were white like the full moon. The usual dark colors of his scales became a pale gray. The most disturbing change was the fact that Godzilla was no longer breathing. His signature deep breaths had ceased and his chest remained still. The GDF base on Monster Island kept a track on Godzilla’s vitals via a high tech chip that had been placed on Godzilla years ago. According to the readings Godzilla was dead.
However, there he stood. His eyes open and his body moving. Godzilla walked forward until he came to the shore line. He did not enter the water. Instead, he followed the beach and circled the island. He did so for several hours before finally returning to the meteorite. He remained there just staring as if in some type of trance.
By the following day a team of men which included myself had gathered at the GDF base on Monster Island. Our job was to find out what happened to Godzilla and how. We all suspected that it was caused by the meteorite. I had suggested that the meteorite may have brought down some type of virus with it when it crashed down on Earth. I couldn't say for sure until we got a piece of the meteorite to study. We were beginning to form a team to go to the meteorite when the GDF computer sounded off an alarm. The alarm meant that a monster was approaching Monster Island. That is when the earthquake began.
From the base we had a wide view of the island. Outside we could see a large trail of dirt being disrupted from an underground source. One of the monsters was traveling underground. The earthquake came to a stop and Gorosaurs appeared from beneath the earth.
Gorosaurus let out a mighty roar which gained Godzilla’s attention. Godzilla slowly approached Gorosaurus, who looked at Godzilla with confusion. The monsters reaction to Godzilla reminded me of a confused dog. Tilting its head at the creature before him.
Gorosaurus must have sensed that something was wrong. He began to back away. When Godzilla showed no signs of stopping Gorosaurus rushed back to the hole in the ground that it crawled out of. Before it could escape Godzilla grabbed its tale and pulled Gorosaurus towards him. That is when it happened. That is when our fears truly began. Godzilla started to consume Gorosaurus.
Godzilla took large chucks out of Gorosaurus and swallowed them whole. Gororsaurus tried to fight back. It used its feet to claw away at Godzilla’s stomach. Godzilla’s scales ripped away like rotting flesh but he showed no signs of pain. Godzilla continued to feed on Gorosaurus until noting remained but bits of bloody bones. He then returned to the meteorite and stood sill like before.
The computer in the GDF base began to sound off another alarm. We check the computers. Anguirus was approaching.
And so Begins my Undead Kaiju Project! I hope you are enjoying it so far.
When it comes to the artwork. It began with a simple sketch. I mapped out where I wanted everything to go and then I just went from there. I tried to think of ways to make Godzilla appear Undead. The first trick, a same trick that was used in one of his films, was to make his eyes lifeless. Then I picked areas of his body where flesh would be torn away. I also tried to make his teeth, bones, and spikes appear fossle like to add to the death theme. Overall I think it came out great. I then colored in the background with a trippy Green and Black mix.

Holy shit. Just..wow. This is freakishly prescient given the ShinGoji design.

This is a very interesting concept indeed. Please continue this.
And is the virus infectious or only if they breathe in the green fumes?

Hmmm I don't know. Never thought about it that way. It's just a stand alone story I was working on. So I guess alternate universe.

I'm not sure about that one. Godzilla has to be alive for his healing factor to work and if he's a zombie....
It's like in Marvel Zombies. Logan's healing didn't work because he was dead. Walking Dead, but still dead
Thanks for the comment

but you have to remember at the end of Godzilla mothra ghidora giant monsters all out attack Godzilla was disinagrated but his heart started beating even when his whole body and brain was gone so that means if that happened the answer is Godzilla can survive anything

That is true. However, GMK is a very stand alone film. His origin was a bit different in that one. Something to do with spirits of the dead I think?

Thank you very much. Godzilla as a zombie boss in Resident Evil would be epic.
Speaking of Capcom games... they need to make another Dino Crisis!
