Well, it looks built to haul ass...I wouldn't bank on maneuverability though. I'm guessing it's afterburn in, alpha strike, then come back in for another pass?

With 3 SRM4's and an underslung Rotory type AC5 its not lacking in firepower for its lighter frame. intercept and destroy are its primary goals in life...

60 tons, moves 8/12. Four AMS, one forward and three aft (the ventral unit is designed to cover that arc, though in the game there is no such arc).

About ten tons of armor, well-protected for the size and an absolute bastard when taking on anything significantly slower - basically, if you are moving 6/9 or less, you're a target with a short half-life.

These things, along with the Sounder, took on two Vincent-class 400,000 ton corvettes - destroyed one and seriously damaged the other.

Wow..how many of them were there? Lance? Two?

Four lances of Sounders, six of the Machete. That sounds like a lot, but trust me, the players running the corvettes were confident they were going to stop the invading dropships at that point - the Vincent Mk 42s were considered the *strong* point of the orbital defense ring.

No one expected Dorian and Helen to take all their fighter wings and just hammer away at the corvettes - these were WarShips, not just some orbital defense junk. Took about half an hour of rolling dice to resolve the issue, but despite losing a few lances, the ComGuard forces got through. The defending WoB players were thunderstruck.

*Sigh* Corvettes rarely mount the point defense weaponry of capital ships, something that should have been kept in mind, they're so small that in order to mount significant anti-warship capability, they have to skimp on the smaller, more agile weapon mounts.

Though, I've always been a fan of just running stuff over or ramming attacks..

Heh. That is true. I believe the WoB players expected to use those corvettes to destroy the incoming ComStar dropships. They would have done a good job, too, given their Naval-class weapons. It's just that (1) they did not anticipate an attack by relatively tiny aerospace fighters and (2) did not expect said fighters to pour out such a large amount of damage.

Nice, apart from the belly gun which looks like it would have very restricted arcs.

Well, its made to shoot forward... Lol... You point the plane at the target and pull the trigger, it isn't a AH-64 gunship...
