Ok everyone i need some help, i no Halloween is prtty far of but i need some help/tips. 4 halloween im planing on cosplaying as chell, or mabey just another male test subject but i need advice on how 2 make some longfall boots and a portal gun. thxs 4 ur time and all help is apricated :3Related content

i'm actually working on a set of long fall boots myself. I'm using PVC pipe for the backing, a pair of heeled boots as the base (which I'm going to fiberglass over to give the more plastic appearence of the boots) and metal for the long fall brace. I think they're gonna be pretty heavy when I get done but at least they are gonna look realistic. My husband is making my portal gun, using this [link] as a basis.

No problem, I know what a pain it is to try and get a cosplay just right. I had huge problems the year I went as a little sister from Bioshock. Mostly with the dress, as my husband made the needle for me.

You wouldn't be the first one to do it. I saw a guy pull off a really good little sister cosplay, he looked adorable...kinda creepy if you think about it too long...heh!

but cheap white boots, cut them up, take off the heel, buy a couple of leather dog collars and cut them in half to use for straps... (unless you want to use black elastic, but i think the long-fall boots that chell was wearing had leather straps) sew on another white (leather?) peice to make the "heel rand" then either
1. under the heel rand, put black cloth, or
2. color it black with paint, sharpie (not as good), or spray paint (preffered)
as for the velocity challenge brace, you're on your own... maybe you can happen to come across a random piece of hard plastic for that. i dont know how to make it or what to make it from.
anyway, hope this works.

if that doesn't work, the best i could suggest is making them from wood and painting them. just in case.

Long fall boots - Im making some myself, won't promise they're gonna be pretty or anything but I use a material called Craft Foam, it's easy to use really and can look like metal and such with the right materials
