Here is the penciled cover art for my upcoming fanfic. Those of you who have read book one will find several of these images very familiar. My story takes place between Yugi completing the Millennium Puzzle, and Yami challenging Ushio. I was always curious on how Yami got to that point, seeing as he had just woken up with amnesia. What was it like to awake for the first time? How did he know what happened to Yugi? When did he change his clothes? How did he find the money Yugi’s grandpa gave him? How did he know to give control of Yugi’s body back? And more. With this fanfic, I had set out to answer those questions for myself.
The writing is done, but I'm holding off on posting it until I finish the cover. Also, a good knowledge of the events of chapter 1 will be necessary to fully enjoy the story.

I had a good time drawing this. This is the first time that I finally drew Yami's early (books 3-7, and a little into Duelists) incarnation, with his more boyish face. I decided to pick that look over his book 1 look, because it is more relatable, and Yami looks like he's possessed early on. See what I mean?

I also updated everyone else's looks to match the version of Yami I chose.
