Sweet. I haven't done a meme in ages haha. Anyway, I'm currently trying to get out of an art block.. so I thought that this would be a great way for me to re-visit what me into the artist I am now. Most of the things I put on the map are the things that really helped me grow and develop.

So I'll explain each of them from top left to right. This comment box is going to be reallyyyy loonngg!

iDNAR - Okay, ~iDNAR is the absolute reason why I wanted to get more into digital painting. I only started using photoshop around 2006-07, so when I saw this specific picture I immediately went, "Holy shit! I want to do this too!". From then on digital painting has been an important part of my artistic life. Thank you iDNAR!

Alphonse Mucha - Have you noticed how I draw a lot of women? Well Mucha's is one of the main reasons why. From the smooth flowing fabric to the way his subjects are elegantly posed, everything about his work is just so beautiful.

Stanley Lau (Artgerm) - `Artgerm is one of my idols. Out of any artist in DA, I think he is the one I respect the most. I look up to him as a digital painter and a graphic artist. I think I can look through his gallery a million times and still learn something new every time.

Fukaya Yoichiro - You probably won't recognize his work unless you know the J-rock band Kagrra. The reason is that he illustrates their album covers. His work is very elegant and even mysterious. Looking through his work always gives me new ideas to draw.

Final Fantasy Even though my favorite FF is 8, FFX was the game that made me really appreciate this realistic style that really influenced my own style. You can see that there was still a hint of anime in the realism that you don't see else where. Since then I always try to incorporate the same feel to my realism.

Dragon Ball Z Oh man, DBZ is one the first animes I started drawing. I used to draw the characters ALL THE TIME. It's just such a big part of my childhood and it still has a special place in my heart.

Music Music is always my go to when I need ideas or motivation. Sometimes I listen to a song and an image pops into my head. It's one of the most powerful tools of inspiration in the world I believe.

City Skylines It may sound a little random, but I think that city skylines (especially at night) are of the most beautiful sights you can see. The colors of all the lights reflecting off the water is jaw dropping. It's the reason why I wanted to study in the city (and eventually live there).

Mario Wibisono (raynkazuya) *raynkazuya is an artist I really look up to. As an artist who's favorite subject are women, I use his art work as references. His level of realism is the realism I, one day, want to achieve.

Rurouni Kenshin One of my favorite animes of all time. I used to listen to the soundtrack that I borrowed from my friend and draw Kenshin all the time. The series also gave me my first taste of traditional Japanese clothing which stuck with me till now.

Naruto Even though I'm not into Naruto anymore, Naruto was a big part of my improvement as an artist. People who remember my old account should remember the Naruto fan art I always did. Every time I drew Naruto, I also learned something new on photoshop. So if I hadn't spent so much time drawing Naruto then I wouldn't have improved as much.

Kousuke Fujishima I am a very big fan of Fujishima's work. He is one of the main reasons why I love drawing hair so much. He always drew Belldandy's (Ah! My Goddess) hair in a flowy, angelic way which I admired so much. So everytime I drew Belldandy I always looked forward to drawing her hair.

Hyung-tae Kim Who isn't influenced by HTK? His character designs are fantastic and original. He's also an artist I use for reference when I need some inspiration.

WHEW! If I had the time and the space I would've put so many more artists on the list but this is all that I can fit.
