Lately I’ve been sitting on my sofa with a coffee, and just staring into empty space and losing myself, hence this painting. It’s Christmas around the corner and I know that for me, it will be a sad and quiet one. I love painting Clara and I wanted to paint you all a picture that is fresh, unique and something that gives you hope when you are down. I’ve had some terrible issues the early part of this year and it made me realise how sometimes the simplest of things are the most important. If any of you ever hit ‘rock bottom’, please take a deep breath and pick yourself up slowly…if I can do it, you can.
I hope that you like my painting and if you do find the time to leave a comment, please tell me what you think about when you stare into space. Maybe it’s someone or something special that is gone, or maybe it’s about the future or past?

When I stare into space, what I think about depends on my mood - I might try to think through a plot or scene for my next story, or relive a good memory, or if I'm upset I might think about everything I've done wrong in the last year or so. That's usually when I try to find something fun to do.
I reckon Clara would probably think about the Doctor. I think she might stare off into space and worry about him, wonder where and when he is, if he misses her...
She doesn't seem like the kind of person to worry about the future so much as the present.

She misses her DOCTOR! (Matt Smith)
He was the DOCTOR, that made her laugh – feel safe, even - when ALL HELL WAS BREAKING LOOSE...
...And, she wants Him BACK, to help her mend her BROKEN HEART, over her recent loss (Danny Pink)!
