Description
Due to a large number of request over the last few months, I have decided to put up this tutorial on how I create the eyes that I do on my paintings. I consider the eyes to be the single most important feature and if you can get them right, you will be well on the way to creating a beautiful portrait.This is the way I do the eyes and other artist will have their own ways of doing things. I find this works for me and I really hope this works for you.

a question~
for the iris you just draw a lot of lines or you use some kind of filter...? i knew there is a filter that looks similar to that, though i dont remember ir now.

Oh for the iris, I do two or three layers of lines, all hand painted in all different tones for each layer. Thanks again for leaving a lovely comment

I have a bunch of your tutorials in my favourites folder, they all look really useful. I appreciated the lack of explanation next to each step, because it allowed me to focus on observing each picture to work out what you'd done in each one to move the painting forwards, and let me try out different ways of achieving the same thing without worrying I wasn't using the right tool set to the right size or whatever. Explanations can be very useful for some things, but for this I found the simple approach far better

I like to learn, and I have to say that my eyes are not enough detailed sometimes, and your tuto showed I did it all wrong
For example, I make the pupil before even starting to detail the iris, and I tend to overfill on the pupil lol, so it's a bit messyΒ
Plus, it's the first tuto about eyes I find simple, not difficult to understand !
