Not really a fanart, as the title says it's the map of Japan made using Himaruya's characters.For more Hetalic Maps go here .
Notes:
This was made interely using Himaruya's art.
- Okinawa shouldn't be as you see him, but lower in the map. Only the map didn't have Okinawa and so I moved him there. By the way he's not a Chibi, he showed up in a panel in Vol 4.
I hope you will manage to see everything. They were a lot of characters to place in tiny spaces...

If I am correct, the designs for these characters are based off of another webcomic series where the characters are named after the prefectures and stuff but were human. I am not positive that this is true though

Hmm... Ishikawa looks a bit like Hong Kong.

I think the problem is more he tossed them out rather quickly, so he didn't have the time to check on them... though the problem could be reverse. There are sketches of the Japanese prefectures that are really, really old so maybe they had birth before Hong Kong and Seychelles but were never developed... ergo it's Hong Kong and Seychelles that ended up resembling them, possibly because when HK and Seychelles were created he didn't think he would use the prefectures... so he ended up creating doubles of some sort without even realizing.

Well, that's sort of normal. I mean, Japan is his country, he'll understand it better and he'll be more familiar with customs and stereotypes for the various provinces as he grew up with them.
Even if he were to love another country more, the knowledge will be second hand or, even if in first person, still it's unlikely it would be so deep.

Then... But he's the only one people would accept official characters from.
I mean, I showed you the ancients, there are also some other good oc's of other nations. But they won't be accepted, no matter how good. .. because they're not by Himaruya.

Yes, but I don't think he'll care about this.
If he's not inspired/interested, he won't draw ancients, even if it's a pity. It might also be he knows very little about them. His history mistakes show already a good lack of history knowledge in WW2 in which Japan was directly involved.
Sure he could at least make sketches of the ancients as he already has declared some things about them (Graecia and Aegypt were female, Britannia was also female and with the same eyebrows as England... and he said nothing about Carthago but he evidently know he/she and Roma fought so he could have drawn that instead than Spartacus...)... but he wasn't interested in it.
Things are worse now that he doesn't update his web. Previously we could hope in sketches and make requests for the events but now... we can't even make questions on an episode and hope he'll reply.

Hmm, but it's something he caused. He started it and now it won't stop. People want more nations to be 'born'.
Yea. ...I don't know what's up with him. Though I have to admit that the new design (some got even new hairstyles) is really precious. And then also some characters made their first appearance in the anime, like Australia, India and New Zealand.
Another cool thing is the 'planetary moe' that Rosel-D here on dA does. She/He creates personificated planets and has them interact. They look really good ;3

Yes, but again he has no real obligation to satisfy other people's requests any further than he does as long as what he does 'sell'. Sadly he made us no promise he would draw all the characters or even just 'character X'. So far Hetalia is selling well but if he goes bored with it he could even cut it.
So, even though I really want more characters... well, it's all up to him (if it was up to me you probably won't see cattalia or mochitalia for example...

He is probably not having enough time or wants to do something else. He was possibly busy with Hetalia for a longer time than the fandom has been out.
So he grew tired of it... But then I find a different person should continue the work. ..It's also a reason why I would soon continue my work. When I finished the costumes of the Auld Alliance I might make maps which feature all nations in chibi form. It might be troublesome but people like you might be able to help (Which is why I wrote to you)

Well, if he's drawing other manga I can understand he might suffer of a lack of time. If he's drawing only Hetalia... usually mangaka draw much more pages and some even manage to keep up with their blog.
But yes, he could have gotten bored with it. Hetalia previously was just a hobby he handled as he preferred and now it's a job. He might not be happy with it.

Well, as I don't really know what is situation is I can't really talk... it depends on how many pages he's drawing and how much he's paid. Also there's people who just don't find comfortable with assistants because they never had one previously.
Sure thing is I really hope he's drawing other manga because if he's drawing just Hetalia and can't keep up with it he'll do better to change job. 8 pages each month are really a risible amount of job compared to the one of other mangaka who draw from 25 to 65 pages each month... Hetalia often doesn't even have background or that much of shading.

He took a quite long break after he had been very up-to-date on the bamboo thicket. I think in that break he took lessons on drawing or something. Or he just practised alot without uploading something.

Oceania, then maybe South America, Africa, Asia, North America and then Europe. How does that sound? When you know any micronations you could help if you want.. a good example was the Niko Niko micronation. I didn't know anything about that and found it on one of your maps.

Honestly... I don't know. For all I know he could have been hospitalized and so he handed APH to another mangaka with the request to say it was still him drawing APH... counting to resume drawing it once he'll feel better.

You won't find info on Nikoniko as it seems it has already cheased to exist. Apparently a Japanese guy decided to invent it and then... he changed his mind.
You can find info on the most popular micronations here . At the bottom there's also a list with many more miconations and a list of states with limited recognition. Both lists are quite interesting!

scottish must have dialect. You don't understand scottish people on their full dialect.. and they also don't wear that off among foreigners. But I like the dialect. It's so... corny. And it sounds a bit like german.
