Very cool. I did something similar with a drawing i did of a rose [link] . Quite a while ago. Now i know how to do it next time i try that, i'll have a better technique. Thanks!

I have problem with the shadow thingy.. I can't even make it right. we create new layer above the border layer [with the layer mask]. Then paint the picture with the desirable color [the shadow on] right? Can you give me the screen shot on how you create the shadow? Thank you...

The shadow is your own creation... it is the area that is on top of the border...
In my example, the end of the leaf extended outside of the border. I painted a shadow for the leaf and placed it above the border layer...
