sadly I don't make the fruit slices myself...I'm alright at making them..but they take very long to make, and I usually use air dry clay which is hard to make canes from.
About the slicing...I suggest either using a razor blade or a sharp craft knife. Cutting them thin comes with practice. Just make sure you put the cane on a flat surface and place your blade down on the cane. Holding the blade on the cane, you can see how thick the piece you cut will be. So from there you can cut thin slices.
I'm not sure if that helped...but good luck :]! There are some slicing tutorials on youtube!

Mmmm well I've seen them at nail salons because you can use them for nail decoration as well, but usually they charge more. I haven't seen them anywhere else...In my community there's lots of asian places that sell specifically miniatures and you can buy it there too. They're pretty rare to find in stores (depends where you live)

I'll see if I can find it in the asian stores then. ^^ Thank you.

be careful not to leave it in the heat. it might start getting sticky....so if you decide to use clear nail polish be careful or apply a varnish on top of it! :]

If you sculpt air dry clay that's white (ahemcrayolaclay) can you paint it with acrylic paint, then let it dry when you're all finished?
This is SUPER CUTE by the way~
(oh and I just noticed that I'm commenting a year after this was posted.... 8D)

jobo12354 In reply to HeavenlySheep [2011-01-26 22:20:30 +0000 UTC]
Yup...although I suggest you let the clay dry, and then paint it. It's hard to paint when your clay's all squishy. You can also mix paint into your clay if you want.
Thanks :]

Okay! Thanks ♥
Oh, and to mix the paint into the clay, do I just add drops of the paint into the clay and moosh it around till the color is right?

Hi
Could you please help...
At what time are you surpose to bake it?
With the hook in it or do I put it in later?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
jobo12354 In reply to poppit95miyu [2010-12-11 16:54:50 +0000 UTC]
Ummm you can bake it with the hook inside.
And for the time, I am not too sure because I don't use oven-bake clay often. I think the packaging on the clay tells you how long you should bake something for because it is different for different clays. The time depends on how big the object you are baking and what brand of clay you are using.
