one question.. when you do the hue/sautration... which layer do you have selected?

When I do the hue/saturation adjustment, I have the star layer selected. However, technically, you can have any layer selected - it's kinda neat to try messing with the settings of different layers to see how they affect each other.

ran into a snag, I have photostudio, not photoshop, the options are different and I don't have any ways to make a cloud effect. any suggestions?

Indeed, I do have a suggestion! You may not like it... but... here goes: paint the clouds in yourself. Create a new layer, set it to "Multiply/darken/whatever." Then get out a brush, and start dabbing in some dark blobby areas - that alone should suffice to create the varied star look.

Can't remember how long it took. The original size is about four times this size: the stars took about... mmm... 1-3 hours? And the planet took maybe another hour.
