Description
Yep, I'm telling everyone how I made the wolves in Wolf Mates II - haha, maybe I shouldn't... but I'm going to, anyways. It's shockingly simple - anyone can do it!Hope it makes sense, and that it's useful... and that I'll get to see lots of furry things in the near future

Thanks, I will
Though I have a feeling it won't look half as good as your wolf !

Thankyou so much - you are made of joy. Fur textures have been the bane of my drawing and this is really helpful!
Off to scribble merrily over all my soon to be furry drawings ...

Hm? Yes, I used a couple, because no one picture sufficed. I used one for markings, another for the wolves' faces, a few for poses... Then I sort of combined the information and put all the elements together from all of them to draw this.

isnt that good for people to know not everyone are skilled in knowing the forms of wolfs

Well, I didn't mention much about references in the tutorial because I'm assuming, if people want or need references, they'll use them on their own. They don't need me to say, "Use a reference."

Eolhin In reply to ??? [2005-04-17 12:26:03 +0000 UTC]
Simple to you perhaps, but I don't think just anyone could do it as well.

jocarra In reply to Eolhin [2005-04-17 18:00:02 +0000 UTC]
Awww.... Well, the process is undeniably simple... but so is dragging a stick over a surface to create a more-or-less straight line
Heheh, you see my point. I mean, it's easy enough to scribble and smudge, but it takes a little practice, patience, and skill to get it to look really good. Either that, or a lotta luck X3 Haha.

Eolhin In reply to jocarra [2005-04-18 01:37:31 +0000 UTC]
Not to mention being able to draw something that looked decently like a wolf, or whatever you are doing, to begin with! *L*

Seriously, you have quite a bit of talent - you'll probably be one of those horrendously popular artists in the community by the time you're 16!
Haha, and yes, scribbling in Paint is fun X3

I think you will - you already are!
Y'know, it bugs me a little, actually... You come across some deviants with tens of thousands of views and a minimal reaching out to the community (comments/favs/watches/etc.), with crude art skills at best, but because they draw things that people like, they get paid lots of money to be a hack artist and never have to learn to improve their skills.
If you do ever become really popular and in demand, I think it will because you truly earned it

daniii In reply to jocarra [2005-04-17 04:46:45 +0000 UTC]
I must agree with you, I know some wonderfull deviants that dont get much pageviews but have somegreat quality art and you can see that they are doing an effort. And yet, there are some deivants that as you said, get favs for the "concept" and not for the ability...After all, its not funny to be an artist of any sort if you dont look foward to improve with every step....
Minimal reaching? If you mean they dont give anything back to devart, like comments and favs, you are mostly right, the thing that makes DA especial is the fact that everyone gives and recives, you post and fav other people who also fav and post, and so on....

jocarra In reply to daniii [2005-04-17 05:14:54 +0000 UTC]
Yes, by a minimal amount of reaching out, I meant interacting with people, lending them your opinion, giving comments and favs, watching others and taking an interest in their work. It bugs me when I come across a deviant - they have minimal amount of comments, but tons of views and comments that people have left them. Then their journal only includes stuff like information about how much money they charge for commissions. Mrrgh I guess in a way I'm jealous. I put a lot of effort into my work and into trying to be a good person here on dA, while others seem to not care about others and don't try at all to improve their art, and simply sit there waiting for people to flock to them. I guess I wish I could be lazy and just have people come to me without trying, but actually, I feel better about myself if I actually earned something.
Ahh, sorry, I ranted X3

daniii In reply to jocarra [2005-04-17 05:49:59 +0000 UTC]
Dont worry, I like your rants (I've read your poll's rant also). And anyway,as you put it, all those Deviants could just make themselves a website with a gallery and stuff xD I dont find a good point on beeing great and not sharig it. Giving comments and watches/favs always helps other people to improve, just like your tutorials. If I ever get popular here at dA (with quality artwork and stuff), I'll try to be like you, y'know, comemting and doing nifty tutorials that can help a whole lot to others. (Example: Me with you tutorials )

Awww, you wanna be like me?? *blushes profusely and falls over* *dies* X3 That's so nice of you... *sniff sniff*
Well, I try to be somewhat useful I'm kind of selfish, in that I don't always comment on other people's work because I don't always have time, but if a person is on my watch, I try to comment when I can. I try to make up for it by always getting back to people who do comment, even if it's just a thank you.

daniii In reply to jocarra [2005-04-17 15:55:53 +0000 UTC]
Nuuuu!!! Dont die! :3 DevART needs more deviants like you
And yeah, you would now how great it feels if people reply your comments with a "Than you, I apriciate it" or maybe even better, with something deeper that leads to thousands of replies more. Pretty much like this case. *s again*

Hehe, and yeah, I like it when comments lead into interesting conversations - that seems to be the case particularly with a deviant named ~Kass-Craven . Haha, you probably see a lot of lengthy (and crazy) conversations going on if you scroll down
