Description
RIGHT CLICK TO LOOPA little swordplay animation... Rotoscoping is fun... Yep.
Right now, it's only in its most crude form - I was going to make it longer, but I thought this was an appropriate place to end it. I hope to make this into a proper animation of Jayli some day. Y'know, properly drawn with colour and a background... *sighs wistfully* Oh well...
~6 hours. 65 frames rotoscoped. Drawn in Adobe PhotoShop 7.0, tested in Microsoft GIF Animator, presented in Flash. 20.

Wow, excellent job! I've gave a shot at animation, but I found I prefer pictures that portray motion instead. Amazing work, keep it up ^^

Thank you very much Heh, well, pictures that portray motion tend to be easier than a bunch of pictures put together into an animation

Amazingly smooth and hypnotic to look at, not much else to say! Damn fine work Jocarra, I look forward to either finished work for this or perhaps even more test work! Totally amazing to behold!

Thank you very much! It was hard working getting it this smooth, and I reckon I'll have to put even more work into smoothing it out for the finished version... if I ever get to it...

Anyways, thank you very much!

Rotoscoping = basically manually-drawn, frame-by-frame motion capture.

Wooww it looks so hard to be done. 65 hours wow!
The deviation presents a great dynamism and and the fluenty of the sword and her moves look very real. She is Jayli Right? She looks very agile and gracefull.. i would dare to say elegant.
Nice animated work

Mmm, thank you very much! Yes, there is something wonderfully appealing about animation... It's hard as heck for me, but it feels great once you've produced something
Macromedia Flash is a graphics/animation program. It can be used to make interactive web menus, games, cartoons, and images. It is vector-based as opposed to pixel-based. It allows animation using tweens as well as traditional-style frame-by-frame animation. I can't explain exactly how to use it, though - I'm hardly an expert myself. I'm actually pretty awful at it.
By the way... This animation wasn't made in Flash. It was made in Adobe PhotoShop, frame by frame. The frames were then animated in the free Microsoft GIF Animator, which is very easy to use. However, for the sake of a nice presentation, I uploaded it in Flash format.

Hehe, well, a frame is basically anything you want. Any still image can be used as a frame in an animation.

Rotoscoping? Well, if you have a video of something you like (say you like the duals in Star Wars), then just pause it and use each frame as a reference.
