Description
The second piece of art inspired by the JLA-Avengers series. This one, taken directly off the wall, so to speak. It's a Marvel-DC mash-up version of the cover of Justice League of America #21, the first JLA/JSA crossover. In the story, Captain America is standing looking at this picture on the wall of Avengers mansion. I wanted the picture on my wall and the only way was to do it myself.
One of these days, I'll print a large copy of it, but for now the small one is enough.

I may redo this one, I can do a much better job, now and I'd like to have it as a cover. My inking has improved, a lot, since this was done.

I like how the Justice League all have got this expression like "Hey guys, we're in your house!" and the Avengers are all freaking out cause they think their place is haunted. I know that this referencing the JLA/JSA (I figured that before I read the description) but I still like to imagine how it was going on.

I'm convinced that George Perez did a larger version of this cover image, for the wall art seen in Avengers mansion in the JLA/Avengers crossover I got the idea from. On the actual page, it looks to be statted down to the size to fit the wall frame in the panel. Would love it if they'd published posters of these types of image seen here and there in the crossover.

Well, in the original JLA cover, the JSA is conducting a seance to contact Earth -1. In JLA/Avengers, the Avengers are contacting the League. I just did my best to copy Gearge Perez's image seen on the wall of Avengers mansion in one of the JLA/Avengers issues, because I wanted one on my wall.

Heh. Pre-Crisis on Infinite Earths, DC had a multiverse. The Golden Age stuff was set on Earth-2, Earth-1's history begins with the silver age, around the time of the first appearance of the Martian Manhunter.
I preferred the old Multiverse, because it was a nice, simple way to compartmentalize things.

Heh. They tried to "simplify" things by cramming everything into one universe following Crisis on Infinite Earths, but it never worked. As time went on, the conceptual cracks in universe became more and more evident.

Well, that's kinda what a seance is, only you're trying to con the spirits into doing things for you, instead of the creator of the Omniverse.

My favorite crossover, before JLA-Avengers, was John Byrne's Batman-Captain America crossover.

Thanks.
Wish they had released Perez's as a poster or something, you can tell on the page that it's a reduction of a larger piece.
