Simple comp test.
Added comment, 10/29/2013 - Well maybe not so simple, actually took awhile to create. It was done in Maya software with Michael Comet' muscle system (AKA mayaMuscle.) I modeled the Skeleton, then the outer skin. I tried several muscle plugins - and mostly failed - I had to simplify the original version because I made to many muscles and my computer couldn't handle it. So I ended up using cMuscle with just these general massive shapes that work under the skin to jiggle and slide under the skin. I did the rigging, cause that's just another thing I do. I created a bunch of walk/run cycles to learn and test out how to improve the rig/skin.
Well there ya go - A T.rex! I'm glad I did it.
Added comment 10/30/13 I thought I could read/reply to all the comments people made, very very nice! Thanks, I will keep trying...Now it's gone up to 31 pages though.
Please don't be mad if I missed you
It was made with Maya software you can have a free version of the rig here >>> joel3d.com/TrexSkeletonRig.htm⦠<<< skeleton only
11/01/13 THANK YOU for all the comments! I can't keep up, I hope you understand.

Love the rebound on the leg muscles!Β Foot comes down and sends little ripples through the muscle tissue.Β Brilliant!Β I was reading a book about tyrannosaurs entitled "Tyrannosaurus Rex The Tyrant King."Β It comes with a CD ROM which includes the manner by which tyrannosaurs could lay down and get back up, in animation.Β Its quite a detail oriented book in case you want to check it out.

Fascinating. How did you imagine this would be the muscular system of a T-Rex? Did you find a study for it or just picture the same structure as a bird? I would love to see your reply good joel!

Have you considered observing the way a chicken walks or runs to get a general idea of how a trex might move?

Maya muscle is a bear to use sometimes - I use it when I have to only.
I render out quicktime and convert them to Flash

damn I don't know how to make the animated gifs.....haven't had to do that before. It's as simple as saving a video as a .gif, isn't it? >_>

Unfortunately this isn't a .gif, but a flash animation (.swf file) - so it isn't rendered from frames from any video. It'd require a certain program, such as Adobe Flash, to create and export.

Wow. Β This is beautiful. Β Love the musculature and the soft sacks inserted in lieu of organs and throat mass. Β I'm in the midst of playing with Maya as a modeller (I used to use it a lot), and that program is not intuitive.
