Hmm, I would have figured rarity would have made piece with the fact that she operates magic on a common level and twilight is more skilled. Let's face it rarity normally levitates lengths of fabric and spools of thread, twilight... Lifted an ursa miner. Rarity has had occasions where she can locate gems, twilight has grown facile hair, repaired a hydro-dame, turns rocks into formal attire, apples into oranges (got you there professor Utonium), Allows earth ponies to walk on clods, and created temporary butterfly wings.
