Sorta over-stimulated right now... I had a bunch of half-done sketches and this was the product of one of them... The ever-so-lovely Erykah Badu in a sorta goddess-type state (she already sorta is, but I just exaggerated on it a little bit).I found a pic on her myspace page that I dug, and I drew it out on paper first to get a feel for what I wanted to do (I might post that too), and then just re-drew it in Illustrator alongside the pic.
Semi-inspired by my Boots Riley joint. I just fucking love drawing fros.

I agree about the color of the eyes - they really add to the amber glow around the afro. The textures are so incredibly rich too.

God I love her. I just found one of my old mix cds with a couple of her songs on there.(The one with The Roots-just classic) I think she should inspire more art out there. This is for sure a cool piece
