Description Well, here's another one... I'm doing it for an anonymous individual... He's a very good friend of mine, whom is very skilled in Architecture... I asked him to give me a project to do, and I'd let him decide how close I stuck to the images he gave me... So my reference image is this:
blog.housegleam.co.uk/wp-conte…

I'm not doing the same furniture... He told me not to... But he didn't say what style would look better So, I better crack into Blender, and get working

Blender
Cycles

I Want Critique!

*Edit
Okay, added some furniture, but I haven't heard from my friend in over 24 hours (very odd), and I don't know whether he likes it or not...

LOL! Thanks so much! I really should finish it, but it was a test to see how fast I could work....

hmm let's see

scaling -
a door knob is placed a meter from the floor. we can use that measure to determine the proper dimensions of objects in 3D.

space eaters-
i figure that this is minimalist house or room but it might still use organic components like plants or curve geometries like vases.

mood
you got god lighting here and maybe adding a variety of complementary colors will make the room more or less lively
reyn, a co-teacher, uses egg yellow emissions shaders as key light and adds blue colored fill in lights

For your fireflies, have you tried Under samples : clamp indirect set to 2 or 3 and maybe also try clamp direct ?

Yeah... But it actually killed my lights

You would not believe your eyes, when ten million fireflies lit up the render.

Adding a roughness map to a shader gives so many fireflies. D:Β

JoeyBlendhead In reply to RegusMartin [2015-03-28 22:09:17 +0000 UTC]

The fireflies come from the glossy, which already has a roughness

Yeah, and glass shaders D: turn off caustics and use fake ones!

Haha! Caustics changed... Now to render

SO. MANY. FIREFLIES. Not bad, once again, I really like the coffee table. I think the metal material on the couch rims needs a change, it looks a lot like some kind of fragile ceramic. Not the kind of thing you want supporting you.

Chrome will be fine... I hope... After I get in more furniture Unfortunately the coffee table has to go according to Reino

I liked the industrial scene more This place doesn't seem like anything I'd like to live in. The glossiness makes it look like a bathroom or a public corridor. It looks so cold and sterile. But maybe I will be proven wrong, once you finished it and put in stuff

JoeyBlendhead In reply to Schneckenhausmann [2015-03-26 22:26:17 +0000 UTC]

Haha! Well, this isn't exactly my "style" either, however, I if I work only on what I like... Where is that gonna get me?

elfas [2015-03-25 21:12:54 +0000 UTC]

well looks not bad, a bit early for critiques , but now it looks more like a corridor then a room, so if its supposed to be a room it should be a bit wider, or maybe back up the camera a bit from the stairs - to give a more spacious feeling, now it looks like the proportions are off, especially if you compare it to the reference image,
second, I dont know about blender since I dont use it but 8hours for an empty white room sounds too much especially since there is a lot of noise left so I would suggest to work on the render settings, especially reducing the noise - it really looks unfinished with this much noise,
and finally the railing just does not look like glass, it looks like wire - adjust the settings of the material of it and maybe give it some more thickness.
other then that it looks good

JoeyBlendhead In reply to elfas [2015-03-25 23:58:17 +0000 UTC]

Haha... Room is now wider... I just have to update the render... Um, I am going to work with the Render settings, but I didn't have time for this render. Also, the glass is EXACTLY how I wanted it, and the guy I'm making it for is tickled with it

elfas In reply to JoeyBlendhead [2015-03-26 15:01:36 +0000 UTC]

as long as you and the guy you are making is fine with it than it is fine
but really work on reducing the noise, this would improve the view a hole lot
will be waiting for updates on this I am curious how you will finish it

To starters, are you going for just the basic style? Or proportions? Since it
would need to be bigger to fit that amount of furniture from the original pic.
