I tend to not ship most pairs of ponies, and go with the "Friendship is so strong that friends develop One Piece Straw Hat Crew level friendships VERY easily" theory.
Except Pony Flash Sentry and Twilight, and Derpy Hooves/Trouble Shoes.

I watched Slice of Life with my younger sister the other day, and every scene they were in I yelled "They're giiiiiiirlfrieeeends"Β

This seems almost like we watched differen 100th episode(well I usually use rather full numeration witch includes movies - what let me to have files with episodes and movie in chronological order - so for me Slice of life is rather like 102th but well that doesn't matter)... It rather confirm for me that they are just best friends. Maybe even they're like sisters for each other, but there's nothing romantic in their relationship. For me episode "Slice of life" showed it quite clearly.

You know, I never liked this ship. I'm still not into it. And no, it has nothing to do with they being both girls, there are some yuri pairings I'm ok with, but LyraBon feels kinda forced to me, and I don't usually like ships that exist only because the characters stood next to each other. Actually friends do do that when comforting one another, Bon-Bon was comforting Lyra that she wasn't betraying her. Plus, there would be times when I would hold my best buddy's hand to comfort her, and a few times before my other best buddy would reach in to touch my cheek. Plus my third best buddy and I would reach out to each other and hold hands with our fingers intertwined. One time during an event where we had to color posters, I made a new friend and we were talking. At some point she reached in to touch my cheek, but we were Role Playing. (Now, I'm not saying anything against any shippings or anything, I'm just saying that just because that friends touch cheeks, hands, hug, etc, doesn't mean that they are in love, it just means that they are such good friends)Β

You're right about that, it doesn't obligatorily mean they're in love. Maybe it's just me that I'm usually not that physically close with my friends. But I guess friends that are very close and confident can do that at times, like you said, for confort.

Plus, yesterday, I was looking at what my best buddy was doing on her phone and I ended up pressing my forehead against hers and there will be times when I chat with her, I end up REALLY close to her. I've also seen friends kiss, but those were 'hello' and 'goodbye' kisses.

Sure, of course understand (plus I hate arguments so I wouldn't have started one anyway). Me and my best friend give each other "hello" and "goodbye" kisses (on the cheek!) all the time. And being really close is nothing weird. Like I said, I bet really close friends don't mind it.

If you ask me, the whole "friends" thing they kept waffling on about was a little personal joke for the Mesdames Heartstrings' part. Perhaps in their courtship they were reluctant to go public with their romance, and so insisted to their friends that their amorous affectations meant nothing and that they were "just friends". ...And then they were caught making out fiercely, and were slyly asked "'Just friends', huh?". To which they replied "......Yep. BestΒ friends!".
