I think the ship world was the best... Geeze, now I feel the need to pick up a copy of Myst.

Ahh awesome, my first computer game.. played at a friends house and skipped dinner, I didn't realise 5 hours had passed. I remember trying to find this part where the guide says "a butterfly flies by" I thought I had done something wrong because I couldn't see that butterfly!
Which, as it happens, is totally irrelevant to the game anyway......

i remember my dad got myst when i was little, i was too scared to play it with the sound on, but i always wanted to play anyway with my dad there lol. it always seemed amazing. i wish he still had it.

Man I miss that game. I gave up after confronting that impossible puzzle sans guidebook. I might take it back up again now that I know it wasn't just me XD.

oh lordy that comic cracks me up xD I tried playing the game but i was so oblivious i couldn't get anywhere lol My dad was with me and we still couldn't figure out anything XD

Games with dual endings frustrate me. I think I remmeber playing that game. It WAS pretty, but generally also very creepy in that everything was still working.. and you were the only alive person on the whole damn planet.
Anyway. Dual endings. I don't WANNA pick a brother to support, be they charasmatic or rabid.. I want total completion, all things done, PERFECT SCORES!!
How can I get that if I have to choose..?

The last puzzle in the third one was completely insurmountable by mortal humans, and since I've played through all of the games without using a guide, I've spent HOURS trying to solve the stupid thing.
Never did. And so ended my Myst playing days.
The first one was bloody brilliant though. You got to play a piano.

God that game was difficult. I liked it at first, but I was so incredibly poor at solving the puzzles that the game just infuriated me. I don't know if I ever even managed to get off the first island, although I did cheat and solve the final puzzle to finish the game.

Myst is still one of my favorite games ever. I and can say I finished it without a hint book. I figured out the sound maze. Though it took me a while. I did mess up at the end before got the real end.

yeah I love all of them(except the online piece O' crap). Riven was amazingly beautiful but the puzzles were ridiculously obscure, and exile was the only one I could beat on my own. I loved the rollercoaster ride at the end of that one.
If you ever get a chance to see Ka in Las Vegas, one of the Cirque du Soliel shows, then do it. It's like walking into a Myst village.

That was a great game. I, personally, think that Riven was just as good as Myst (if not better) but then again I'm not clever enough to beat either one, so I doubt my opinion counts for much. Hrm.

I remember this, it was possibly the only game my sister ever got for her Mac. I think she'd had it for some months - playing it just from time to time... and she was totally oblivious to the fact you could leave the first island...

I played this game when I was, what....15 or so. I was so proud that I figured out the whole thing without a guide or anything. The only game I actually used the journal pages that they give you with the game. first was best. no doubt.
