Description
First off, ladies, you should know that your men (or boys, whichever is more appropriate for your situation) will either jokingly or honestly suffer a dilemma of priorities. No need to get offended, just simply apply a hand to the side of their face gently, and give them a reminder of what's more importantAhem, well lately I was given a request to have a "scrap" of mine submitted to a group out of the blue, and I was delighted at the warm reception it got. So I figured "Y'know, I haven't just winged a charming Sonic & Sally pic for at least a solid year now... let's see if I got it in me!", and so I sketched the lines for this with a pencil on paper one night. Obviously it's been heavily modified with the magic of Photoshop thereafter. But yeah, no references used, just what popped off the top of my head
Check out the original sketch!

I really dig this one.
I personally feel you need to take elements from this for any future work.

Thanks for enjoying my work and the constructive feedback! That's useful.
If you don't mind me digging deeper, is it just the personality and chemistry that jives with you or is it maybe the actual colored lines with quasi-cell shading?

It technically is the chemistry and personality, but it is mostly the way you drew the mouths/muzzles in this one.
They feel more like sonic characters when you draw them that way.
Same thing goes for that PSA from Sally drawing you did.
That's my two cents.

Thanks, that really is super helpful. It's also a timely reminder, artistic improvement is great and all, but people enjoy things that have interesting character interaction and have heart usually more than just something visually stunning. I'll have to revisit some of my ideas for these classic characters being themselves

I do believe there are a number of people stalking that prey in the event the hedgehog turns the other way
However he vouches for attempting to love both, we'll see how that goes Thanks for enjoying!

Thank you as always good sir!
I'm glad I at least have a recognizable style, always a good sign Especially since I always feel my art varies far too often

'Cept I dun see Sally making Sonic chili-dogs for his happiness so much as competing for his attention with them XP
I like food, but in its proper place
Thanks for enjoying Kara! ^^ Always good to see that sassy avatar of yours pop up

Hmm, Hot girl or the hot chilidog? I think I'll go with the girl first and then have the chilidog!

That's providing she didn't smack the chilidog to the ground to get his undivided attention beforehand, or just cause him to drop it all together
Thanks for viewing and liking!

If this is merely a photoshopped sketch, it makes my limited work look like something a 3 year old draws. Good job!

Well, heavily photoshopped. The lines are entirely redone and the coloring/shading changes the entire look. I take a long time (mostly due to my inefficient methods), so this is representative of like 5 hours v_v I mean not to say anything was "merely" about the process, not trying to make it look easy or anything like that.
None of which would I have been capable 4 years ago when I first joined DA if I hadn't spent a good lot of time learning stuff. So don't start feeling bad if you see somebody who does something you think is better, look at it and try to figure out what it is you find impressive and reverse-engineer how you could try to do that with the tools you have at your disposal
Thank you for your comment and fav!

Ahaha, Min, this is a new sketch Buuuut I'll take that as saying I've done something similar enough that you've mistaken it, I'll have to watch that
Glad you liked the visual style! Tried a thing out coloring the lines seperately, evolved into this funky cell-shading and lazy background made semi-pleasing with simple gradients and free-formed curvy lines. Was hoping it looked simple and charming like the old cartoons, so I'm extremely happy you say it's fun!

Errr . . . yes, yes that's what I meant! Very similar to something I might have seen, maybe . . . sorry about that.
It does have that charming, simple feel. You nailed it.
