Description
Finally here it is, the one you’ve all been waiting for, I held off for as long as I could but in the end I gave in, hop[e you guys love it as much as I doPikachu’s are one of the most well known of all the Pokémon. They are favoured by electric trainers and though at first hard to train they are very loyal. They live in long grassed areas and eat insects and vegetation. They are often seen digging in peoples gardens and eating their vegetables. They live in burrows but only breed twice a year so that is why there are not many of them. Each litter there are two babies, which is closely guarded by the mother. Their electric sacks are located in their cheeks and can store up a large amount of energy. They most gain it from static electricity and are seen rubbing themselves against things to try and charge themselves up. They use electricity more for protection than hunting as they are often prayed upon by hunters such as Fearow and Pidgot. They are very cute and cuddly once they trust you, but you must know how to handle them or youll end up with a nasty shock.
hove you love it

They are 'life' but from a slightly out of phase vertion of reality, like half in our world and half in another. This allows them to phase through walls etc and float. They can draw energy from our world aswell be it literal energy or drag energy from organic matter like food etc

good explanation and i know how the bug type pokemon are so huge because the oxygen levels in the pokemon world's atmosphere are extremely high

is that your inturpritation or does it say that somewhere? Cos id just say their size is due to openings in the evolutionary ladder, over millions of years they have found neiches to become bigger, usually becoming predators but sometimes a lack of predators would allow them to grow larger.

no they have book lungs which only allows them to take in a set amount of oxygen so high levels of oxygen make them take in more and there tiny bodies can't support that much oxygen so they had to grow bigger to survive

but oxygen wouldnt really effect their size surly, their lungs would adapt etc but it doesnt mean it would change its size.I mean our insects could essentially grow a lot bigger, i mean look at a rhino beetle but because of their being dominant species in the food chain their growth it stunted. Prehistoric insects etc grew to enormous sizes, far bigger than humans, and that wasnt cos of oxygen, it was cos of the food chain. I mean you look at whales, they are large because their were no larger predators, so without predators it means you can grow bigger. Like giant tortoises on the galapigos aswell. Size really means your place in the food chain, the exception being food and intelligence. If there is compious amounts of food and you breed quickly they can grow larger, because predators would have to work to bring them down. Or intelligence (us) we evolved to protect ourselves against predators, eventually making them obsolite, but because we can shape the world around us instead of adapting, we have no need to get bigger or smaller.

but oxygen levels are the reason they are small today

really? well maybe your right, maybe oxygen does have something to do with it, but surely wouldnt the high oxygen levels effect other pokemon in a negative way?

SmashBrosDude In reply to JoshuaDunlop [2009-06-02 11:52:06 +0000 UTC]
since we and other vertebrates like birds and reptiles have lungs we can filter alot of oxygen so we can survive in almost any oxygen level.

Whoa, this is a great pikachu! I think out of all the faked pikachu I've seen, this one has the best tail. It has the zigzaggy lightning pattern to it, but it looks like a real tail at the same time. Sort of like irregular fur.
Lol, they steal vegetables? Just like Peter Rabbit! And it figures that they'd adopt the type which their predators fear the most. Wonder why rattata didn't think to evolve that!!! Though I guess the rats breed more, as they're much easier to find than these li'l guys.
Are pikachu really rodents? They are called "mice", but I think I've seen some episodes which proved it had sharp teeth. And you said something about hunting, do they actually prey on anything, or are they purely vegetarian?
Anyway, great realism.

Their tails fur grows in two different directions giving that zig zag effect, they use it to clean themselves.
Pikachus are relatives of the rodent family but do have sharp teeth. They are omnivores and eat both vegetables and meat. They hunt small birds and insects but prefer fruit and vegetables. glad you like it

...But it's those squared, bucky teeth that MAKE them a rodent. Without them, they're just... a weasel or something.

well not necercerally, they could be very closely related to redents through dna, but have both slightly squarish teeth and sharp teeth, meaning its not exactly part of the rodent family but damn close.

Yer but i think it suits better to the orginal design, but its actually a combination of rabbit and chinchilla, chinchillas being a distant relative to the mouse.

I'm guessing this one is male since females have a small indentation resembling the top of a heart at the end of their tails.

Dood I luv how you make pokemon look so real. It shows people what pokemon would look like in the real world, and how they wouldn't be as cute and cartoony as we think.
I luv the raichu one...

Aww, Pikachu looks like a cute little bunny... I really like your little explanation of their behavior. ^_^ Its very interesting and strangely realistic for such an obviously fictional creature.

well i based it off a rabbit even though its classed as a mouse pokemon... but to be honest i went with what it looked like.... and pikachu looks nothing like a mouse! glad you like it

cheers, i tried to keep the cutness, some other peoples 'mouse ' like one just look a bit weird, a bunny suits it better. Anyway, glad you like it

Basically it's a rabbit with either a long tail, or perhaps another feline characteristic. Hope that makes a bit better sense...

Ha ha, digging through people's gardens. I adore his ears.
Seems like Fearows and things might get a nasty surprise if they tried to nibble on a Pika, since flying is weak against electric adn all.
