Description
Magikarp are seen as one of the most useless pokemon known, and have no use in battle than as a distraction. Unable to learn even the most basic moves it simply splashes around limply. It was once called to be de-classified as a pokemon but was overruled due to its evolution, Gyarados, one of the most powerful dragon/water type pokemon known.
High level Magikarp are searched for in hopes to evolve them quickly. They are occasionally farmed for this purpose.
Humans occasionally eat them however they are a very gristly fish and are full of bones, this is due to the fact it goes through such a large transformation when it evolves.
Saying all of this Magikarp are extremely resilient and have been found in both salt and fresh water and even some found near underwater volcanos.

it still uses dragon moves and tbh, considering im doing 'realistic' version's of pokemon, having a giant fish dragon creature flying seems pretty unrealistic to me, so im not allowing that

Then Tropius shouldn't be Flying-type either but it is.
Magikarp / Gyarados are based on the Chinese legend of the Dragon Gate, Oriental Dragons are wingless yet still capable of flight hence why Gyarados is Water / Flying.

i dont think tropius should be either i agree, pokemon are riddled with physical impossibilities and many of them i try my best to give a believable explanation for, however there are a few that cannot make sense e.g. gyarados... i know where the legend comes from and how oriental dragons can fly with no aid of wings... however they are based on magic and myth, no living serpentine creature or any creature for that matter can stably fly without wings. I draw the line at a few things, e.g. Geodude being able to float... it makes no sense. Im sorry if i annoy anyone but gyarados in the evo vertion will not be able to fly (if it was they would destroy everything)

About the Geodude thing, have you ever considered using helium bladders? If the helium bladders had enough helium in it, it could lift whatever had the bladder off the ground. Try it on Geodude, and I think things might make more sense.

no, there are many reasons why floating doesnt work. 1: there would be no control in direction, 2: the rock would still be too heavy, the helium would have to be at least twice the size for it to work and thirdly, it evolves into a creature that cant float, meaning its loosing a strong evolutionary trait, which makes no sense

1. You know, you could have the arms act as a way of controlling where Geodude could float. For example, if he wants to float left, he'll move his left arm a certain way, and make him move left.
2. The same way you made Blastoise use pressure when containing water could be used for Geodude, only his method doesn't involve losing anything as frequently.
3. Perhaps a situation the Geodude species gets in ended up costing them their ability to float. Look at Charizard and Charmeleon. You had Charmeleon lose a key evolutionary trait: its strong eyesight, which was lost when it became Charizard. If something that significantly radical could happen to Charmeleon when it evolved, it could happen to Geodude, too. Also, Charizard's wings seem rather random when you think about it, and the whole Dragonair/Dragonite thing seems too radical a change. I think Geodude having a helium bladder makes much more sense than what has just been mentioned.
Also, when can you do Psyduck, Golduck, Golbat, and some others?

Yeah...
I never really understood why Nintendo made Gyarados a Flying-type. :\

I believe that the Magikarp/Gyarados line is based upon a legend. The legend refered to a carp that made its way across a waterfall and into heaven (It think it was heaven) and so it was rewarded by being transformed into a dragon. However since it terrorized a village or something like its ability to fly was taken away from it, hence why Gyarados is Wayer/Flying but still being unable to fly.

I never really understood that since Gyarados can't fly. =/

Neither have I. But it gives it quite an advantage, being immune to Ground attacks.
