Description
Starmie are well received as beautiful pokemon of the sea, especially in beauty competitions. When they evolve their skin becomes denser and the orb crystalized into a more gem like shape, also known as a 'mermaids Jewel'. The bodies of Starmie are composed of calcium carbonate components, known as ossicles. These form the endoskeleton, which takes on a variety of forms that are externally expressed as a variety of structures, such as spines and granules.
The cerulean gym also uses the image of the Starmie as a logo for the Ocean exploration program.
Starmie swims through water by spinning its star-shaped body as if it were a propeller on a ship. The core at the center of this PokΓ©mon's body glows in seven colors, studies have shown that this is how Starmie communicate with each other in dark areas, such as underwater cave systems etc.
Years ago they were hunted for their Gems but were put under protection in many areas, however it is not illegal to own a Starmie Gem, so secret poaching and transport still goes on.

This is one of the most beautiful drawings I've seen in a long time. Starmie looks more like an acutal living being than in the official artworks. And the colors and composition are so soothing..

I completely adore how you included real starfish anatomy in a fictional creature. Well done.

Absolutely beautiful. Starmie is my favourite Pokemon and is extremely underappreciated in the fandom. Excellent job with this!

Very beautiful, both pictures. Well done on making them organic. When looking at both of the images in my inbox, they look like one picture split in two.

Hah hah, mate, sock rocking, as always... might I ask... does this picture fit onto the right side of the Staryu picture? I only ask because it seems as if the rocks might join up poifectly. In any case, as I said, marvellous work mate, you consider to do yourself proud.
