As usual, feedback appreciated. I'd love to hear your own tips and tricks, as well as requests and suggestions for other tutorials. Enjoy!

Wow, nice job! Many tutorials for digital art that I come across leave me, a traditional artist, scratching my head in confusion. This tutorial actually has me thinking I might be able to handle something like this! This means that this tutorial has fulfilled its purpose with flying colors. Thank you very much!

One trick I learned for drawing eyes in graphite was drawing drops of water, especially in a darkened setting. It started as a crazy experiment to understand how light plays through water on a surface. It later turned out that eyes use the same principles. The difference, which you've shown here, is that eyes have a pupil and a light texturing in the iris.

Oh, and congratulations on getting a DD!

erm, where the fuck are your manners? many anime eyes don't have defined pupils. sorry if you didn't know that.

i don't have manners because i'm a lose cannon cop living on the edge

and you're right, anime excuses the need to have pupils enable you to see
it's not like it isn't just a copout when you can't draw them or anything

I love how they aren't SUPERSHINYDESU, you know? xD
You keep the shinyness to a level that isn't tacky and looks good.

I love that the people who actually need it, can't figure out the download button.

Anyways, I used this tutorial when I first started digital colouring and it was very easy to follow even for beginners who failed badly like I did~ Really helpful, so I'm happy to see it get a DD after a while! Congrats!

Lovely tutorial. You definetely deserved the 'Daily Deviation', good job on putting emphasis on some of the more important parts like the pupil and glare. Most eye tutorials don't put how important the glare is for the eye to really pop out. Good job! ^ ^

This is such a good idea. For me it is difficult to get the eyes right. Not just in anime, but in any animated character! Well done. Congratulations on the DD

Thank you so much for this! It was surprisingly easy to make pretty eyes after I read over this. (Then converted it to Paint Tool SAI tools in my head, which, by the way, is extraordinarily easy to do because you do such a good job explaining everything. )
