Moonracer vehicle study showing front, back, side, and 3D view. This is a art trade request from talented and who has done my request of the Protectobot members.

This was a challenging task to draw Moonracer's vehicle mode where as in the cartoon there was very limited references to her car mode.
I tried my best to draw her from the cartoon details but I made up my own designs a long the way to make it more of my style and the way it would look.
I want to say thank you very much to Veronica for requesting me to draw Moonracer's alt mode as it was a good experience and learned a lot how to draw her.

Thanks to the requester and limited reference from the show I had to come up with my ideas and designs to compensate from the original G1 design.

Ah well this isn't the official design it is a based off the cartoon and the designs were from the actual cartoon references. I think it is a odd pairing though they seem to have a history.

A nice try on Moonracer's altmode.
I only remember the front view of her alt mode and hard to notice the back.
And I found her altmode are somewhat look like G1 Blurr again. Seems many fembots had their heads being in the mid-section or back in their altmodes.
I may use these as a reference when I 'm designing Moonracer's altmode.

Yes it was very difficult to find a nice balance when I was designing it with the G1 cartoon reference and my own.
Your right about that the alt modes are similar since they are Cybertronian forms and yes the heads seem to play a good part on the design of their alt modes.

Yes it helps not only me but I like to share it with other fans and hope it does help them with reference it's not fully accurate but it gives a G1 style to it.

Not bad but a few bits of constructive criticism for you regarding some of the details. IF you look at the examples of her cartoon vehicle mode, the top of her head is not exposed the way Chromia's and Elita One's is. Also, the rear of the vehicle is a smooth, continuous arc, it doesn't stick out in the back to form a "trunk". She's more of a hatch-back. You can see this in Seedless Penguins' screen-caps from the show, particularly the top center pic and center right pic. Also, pay attention to the shape of the front fenders in the screen-caps.

Yes I've studied all of Moonracer's from only the cartoon with detailed screenshots. I know what your trying to explain but this isn't just the cartoon design. I added my own designs to along the way and wanted to add my own style to it which is what I do with all my drawings.

Thank you very kindly I'm happy you like it! Yes they were very rare scenes to see her design and it changed a bit throughout the episode but I stuck to what I believe and envisioned how she could look which was challenging but fun!

check this design [link] i think it's interesting the way they resolved to make her transform . notice the wheels on sides of her feet become the back wheels and her back becomes the top of the car . it's not like how she changes in the show , but i think it's interesting
